We had a great few days in the Blue Mountains of Australia. The Blue Mountains are roughly two hours outside of Sydney. It is early spring in Australia so lots of flowers were in bloom and the crowds were minimal. I was surprised to see the number of azalea bushes in the area, and they were in full bloom! When you first look at the Blue Mountains they seem to be similar to NC's Blue Ridge Mountains; as we moved closer they seemed also to have characteristics of the mountains in Arizona. But once we started hiking we realized how different and unique they were. The foliage and the terrain were amazing. We stayed at a town called Katoomba which was a great place to walk and relax in. We had a wonderful time. I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Hello everyone! We had a wonderful time in Sydney. It is a beautiful city with many walking areas and beautiful beaches. The people here are super nice and the food is great. I had a chance to try a kangaroo burger! We are having a terrific time here experiencing this new culture. We found some delicious pastries in Sydney's Chinatown and had a chance to visit all the city's major parks. We especially loved Manly Beach with its laid back atmosphere, wonderful hiking areas, and good food. Hope everyone has a super day!

Beautiful hike this weekend. Found a bunch of new trails that I plan on exploring this fall. Went up about 10,000 ft but the weather got super cloudy and could not see the trail. The clouds at one point were so thick I could not see the mountains. Plan on going back next week. There is a picture of a Yak below that we saw. The weather has really cooled down here with temperatures at the lower elevations being around 70 while the upper elevations are around 40 to 50. The higher you get the more quickly the weather changes. This is beautiful country. I hope everyone has a great day!

Have not been able to hike lately because I have had so much work to catch up on. Decided to take a ride through beautiful Monument Valley for a change of scenery. Loved the drive and such a wonderful place!

What a great weekend and celebration! Jackets played their hearts out at last nights homecoming game. Opening the time capsule and the ceremonies that surrounded the opening were spectacular. Especially enjoyed touring my high school and seeing old friends. Looking forward to the evening festivities.
