Seattle’s One-Reel Film Festival 2011 – Saturday Roundup

Maybe we never shared this, but when So Many Options screened at Bumbershoot as part of SIFF's One-Reel Film Festival, we got a nice little write up for it.

"So Many Options (Director: Jeremy Cavner, USA, 6 minutes)

This film owes a great deal to actor Steven Gerard, as well as the writing of his gleeful serial killer. This character is so vocally and physically pitch-perfect, it makes this film a dark comedy delight. Also, given the short timeframe, the cinematography and lighting are top-notch."

Scroll down about a third of the way on this page to see it.

West by Northwest

Edward Aites is a talented time lapse photographer who has his new 2013 reel out now. I recommend you take a look at the beauty of the Northwest that he's captured!

From Edward, "This 2 minute showreel is based on nearly 10,000 individual still shots in about 25 sequences, chosen to reflect the very best of the urban, maritime, and mountain landscapes of the Northwest that I love."

He was also nice enough to let us use some of his footage in our film, "No Time to Spare".

Help our friends get a 2nd chance. They make good film!

Vote 5 stars here!

A couple of months ago we swept the 48 Hour Film Project awards in Dallas and won Best Film (along with the Audience Award, Best Director, Best Writing, Best Actor, Best Cinematography, and Best Sound Design) for our short 'No Good Deed'.

Because we went on to win Best Film in Los Angeles this year also (as well as the Audience Awards in LA), the coordinator of the whole competition found themselves in an unprecedented situation.

They decided to strip us of our win in Dallas and rule the film ineligible on the ruling that 'no team may win more than one city'.

Now we are wrongly considered and labeled the 'Runner Up for Best Film' in Dallas.

But there is hope. You can help us right this wrong by going to http://www.cinema48.com/index.php?med_id=9f9fb9bebb8fb8fc and viewing and voting 5-stars for 'No Good Deed' for 'Best Runner Up' online.

The winner of 'Best Runner Up' online is considered once again for awards at the international level this coming spring, and would give our short the opportunity to re-enter the competition.

It's not the same as getting the deserved win, but it's something. Help us get there by VOTING NOW!
