In our November edition A Word from Parenting talks about Transgender Awareness Week and Transgender Day of Remembrance…Are you making it a point in your family to observe Transgender Awareness Week and Transgender Day of Remembrance? Sometimes it feels like these holidays appear every month, what even is the significance of these observances? You can ask any gay in the village, and they will say that other than maybe Christmas, Halloween is their favorite “holiday” of the year. The costumes, the drama, the candy, the movies, the camp, the DRAG of it all. We particularly love all the classic horror references that translate beautifully to costumes and concepts to flaunt in social settings. I think of Freddy, Jason, Michael Myers, Hellraiser, Carrie, Nosferatu, to name a few, and at the top of the list, Dracula. Reas more about this fun n fabulous show at The Old Globe running now till Nov 3…https://thewordsd.news/dracula-a-comedy-of-terrors/

The truth is that I have not always been this way, and it has taken more than a decade of parenting to figure it out.
