My skin care must have ingredients: Glycolic and Salicylic Acid, RETINOL and Hyluronic Acid. Absolutely. Every day. Every day. Every day.
I can go more in depth into these in a live if you’d like but in brief terms: the salicylic and glycolic acids (acne toner) do a super duper job of cleaning out our pores and exfoliating our skin to keep acne at bay, hyluronic acid (Aqua Moisturizer) helps our skin retain moisture, and Retinol. Oh my lovely retinol (Retinol Serum). 😍It does amazing things for our skin. The simplest thing to say it’s anti-aging but that is way over simplifying. It’s stimulates collagen and increases elasticity among many other things.
Skincare is a passion of mine. I love it. I’m pretty dang dedicated to it. Am I perfect? Absolutely not. But I’m pretty consistent. And that’s only been the last couple years. I wish I had learned long ago!

Mine was getting it to apply evenly before I really started taking care of my skin. Everyone has texture to their skin. Whether it’s dryness, acne, eczema, etc. A smoother, healthier surface (even if you still have discoloration) helps to apply makeup more evenly and get that desired result.

Rednes. Ugh. My biggest insecurity. I have a birth mark between my eyebrows. It’s much debated. Strawberry hemangioma or Salmon patch (stork bite)? Either way it’s there. I’m much more accepting of it now. I’m almost 40 and we find peace with these things. Am I right?
But I also have redness throughout. One thing I have found to help combat the redness is my green primer. I love it because it’s lightweight and sheer. Blends out beautifully under foundation. That’s a big yes for me!

I think sometimes we get so wrapped up in what others think that we forget to speak to ourselves gently and realize what we like and who we are. Don’t be afraid to try bold and new things!! It may not be hair. It might be the yoga class you wanted to try, a new side business, going back to school... so many things were scared to try!

Flawless: without any imperfections or blemishes.
My bundle this month is the “flawless” 4. Primer, foundation, concealer and powder. All great things. But it got me thinking about that word.
Flawless is a scary word unless you break it down and have real expectations. Maybe flawless is just feeling good in your own skin.
I’m definitely without imperfections or blemishes. Not even close. I have adult acne, eczema, uneven skin tone, a large birth mark between my eyes and redness. I used to tan a lot to even things out but that took a toll on my skin as well. I stopped tanning and concentrated on skin care. I have the acne down to a minimum and my eczema under control. Taking control of my skincare has given me a much better palette to put makeup on. But the redness is real. It is.
In the past, I would NEVER leave the house without makeup. Self confidence is something I’ve always struggled with. My entire life, whether it’s my weight or my skin.
I joined Farmasi for their amazing foundation. But somewhere in there I fell in love with the skin care. I went to the store today without makeup. Yes, I had a mask on and that helps. But showing up every week and learning makeup, talking skin care and helping all of you has helped me me grow and gain confidence. Life is real. None of us are perfect. And that’s OK! It’s REAL.
Ladies. Love yourself. Love your body. Love the skin you’re in. Take care of yourself but extend grace. 💕💕💕
