Team red or white?

Either way you, these Neapolitan pizzas are absolutely incredible! I made cringe when he saw me cut them in half and trifold them into for that perfect grip. You could also eat it like a normal person with a fork and knife. I was just way too lazy.

One thing is true though, I’m not a pizza person, but lately I’ve been eating some gems! Truly, is a must try for a great pie. They have various red and white sauce pizzas. They also have a huge selection of vegan.

Have you ever eaten a pizza with a fork and knife?

I didn’t know I needed this, but thank you ❤️

Shout out to for advocating for this. Honestly, I was on the fence about it. Seemed like too much going on and that usually goes south for me. I will say, I wasn’t a fan of the sweet drizzle on top, but after that it was all pure goodness.

I was really craving a nice egg scramble with bacon, cheese and avocado. This hit the spot and it I ain’t mad about it.

What makes a perfect churro?

First of all, I’m going to be starting to blog (like on a website) here and there and would love to share insights I gather from here. If you could comment your thoughts I’ll use them as notes for my blog!

Eating a cold churro is like eating a taco without salsa. It’s still enjoyable, but could be a hell of a lot better. I like mine piping hot with a little crunch, but soft and almost gooey soft on the inside. Even better if it is filled with or cajeta. Also, the sugar and cinnamon shouldn’t be excessive, but evenly cover all of the churro.

I don’t know about you, but I love to eat warm parties with ice cream. I don’t mind a scoop or two with my churros when that’s an option.

What makes a perfect churro to you? What sides or toppings do you like to eat churros with? Where are your favorite churro places? Comment/tag below. I wanna know!

Might be my favorite Peruvian restaurant in town. Checked out for the first time!

The lomo saltado was exquisite. This dish was so juicy, with the potatoes and rice soak up a lot of that goodness. You’ll enjoy every bite. Although you can upgrade to premium sirloin, I was very happy with my cut! I would definitely order this again. Only thing I wish is the fries were a little thicker, but that’s personal preference. Portion was huge and only $15 (+$5 for premium sirloin).

The aji de gallina transported me back to my college days when a coworker let me try some of her lunch. She was Peruvian and had made some aji de gallina at home. I still reflect on that meal from time to time. This was the closest I’ve had to that memory! The dish was creamy and packed with flavor. I would definitely order this again. Only $13!

I splurged and got 2 pisco sours, but one was a maracuya pisco sour tasted so good. Maybe a little too sweet for me, but taste 💣 $8

Two buses. One taco tour. Boom 🤯

Shout out to the boys from and for making this happen. Drinks provided by made it extra special! We stopped by 3 of my favorite taquerias.

🌮 put on a show as the opening act with their classic trompo style al pastor taco. If you haven’t tried this taco you’re missing out.

🌮 Next up, fed us a couple of their Mexico City style tacos: carnitas and suadero. These babies always hit the spot!

🌮 Finished up the tour at with one of my favorite tacos. The exquisite, finger-licking duck taco on a handmade blue corn nixtamal tortilla 🤤

Have you tried all of these?

Taco Rule 42: When the taquera say it’s traditional from their hometown you gotta try it.

In this case, I got to try a typical dish from the city of Tepalcatepec in Michoacán called chavindecas. It’s very similar to a quesadilla, but always comes with meat, traditionally bistec (steak) and Oaxaca cheese (usually mozzarella in the states) between two large handmade corn tortillas and cut in little squares.

These were served with grilled onions, cilantro and a couple lime wedges. Although, it’s a relatively simple dish, I was very happy that I got it. Of course, I smothered it in ALL the salsas 🤣

I tried the pastor and barbacoa tacos too. They were OK, but I wouldn’t order them again. The corn tortillas are handmade, but they were a little dry so needed salsa. I will say, they do serve breakfast tacos all day! It feels like less and less places offer that these days.

This truck is called Lil Munchies Tacos & More and is located at the food truck park on 310 E Pecan in Pflugerville. I’ll prob be back to try the sopes, crisipitacos, and tortas.

Is “Birria Red” a color?

Well, if it is, then the folks over at are some ordinary Picassos slinging masterpieces on the reg.I took full advantage of my mini road trip to Houston and finally got to try this poppin’ food truck!

These red tortilla birria tacos from have been causing quite the buzz. The food truck is inside and although I didn’t get a chance to enjoy a beer, I hear it’s incredible brew!

If you like birria de res (beef) this needs to be on your Houston list to try. The wait wasn’t super crazy, the staff was friendly and the food was good! I was happy with the portion size. My only complaint is they served the tacos with a 🍋🤣 To be fair, I actually tried it and wasn’t a fan. The meat was super tender and te tacos were pipping hot!

🚗 Save this to your Houston food list.
🍺 Don’t forget to grab a beer while you’re there.
🌮 If you prefer corn, just ask them to swap it!

Say it with me: Ta-con-maye

The name is a play on words, but they ain’t playing with their food. I’ve been meaning to visit for a few months now, but finally made the trip to Leander to check them out at the location. I learned they have a food truck in Georgetown so I’ll check it out too!

The brewery itself is so nice. It’s super modern and spacious with a few tables outside too ☀️ The food was stellar, but ifI had to pick my favorite it was the al pastor taco. Usually, I wouldn’t favor this type of taco unless it was sliced off the trompo (vertical spit), but the meat was just marinated perfectly and topped with bits of onion, cilantro and pineapple 🤤 Oh yes, pineapple belongs on al pastor ✊🏽

If you have room, order the birria special and/or the California burrito. These two items were both delish. If I went back again tomorrow, I’d for sure order the burrito. I think at this point I’m just a sucker for California burritos, but damn it was all so good. Don’t forget to try ALL the salsas. I was so impressed with all them, including what you get when you order chips!

Carlos and Angie recently celebrated their 5 year anniversary of slinging tacos. They are incredibly nice people and love their community. If you haven’t tried them and you’re looking for a new taco, put them on your list. You won’t be disappointed compayes 😁

Taco Rule 27: Pick a daycare with a taco truck next door.

Yup, you heard right and that’s what I’m coming to ya with today. I’ve been minding my own business driving to the gym during the week and I kept seeing a little sign that said “OPEN” at this food truck next to a house. I didn’t understand, but then I pulled up.

The house was actually a daycare and the food truck was a family owned and operated taqueria! I went just a little after normal breakfast hours, but they still hooked it up with some potato & chorizo tacos. I also tried some pretty 💣 enchiladas potosinas which are legit Mexican style if anyone wants to try! It was the most unique menu item and worth the visit for sure. Have you had these before?

The truck is called Taqueria Nuestra Ilusión which means “our hope” and is located on the west side of I 35 on Howard Ln. find them on Google!

Had to make room in my top 5…

I thought it would be good, but it really blew me away. Maybe it was the fact that I was starving after my soccer game? Perhaps I’m saying that as an excuse to go back because I loved it so much 😅

Either way, is most definitely the tac-o-the town right now! Whether it’s their made-to-order freshness or their beautiful plating, it’s hard not to be a fan of these two sisters. They are hardworking, inspirational and so f’n talented!

If you go, grab an agua fresca (i had the strawberry lemonade), a couple of tacos (anything with barbacoa, but my fave was the potato & barbacoa 🤤) and if you still have room order the chilaquiles! You won’t regret it! Oh and be careful with the habanero salda…it will sneak up on you and is so delicious you’ll want to pour more than you need 🥵

Remember to be patient. Pretty much everything is made to order, including the corn tortillas, so it may take a min, but totally worth it.

Macha macha biscuit 🤯

If there’s anyone in this town that is capable of innovating with pretty much any collab you can think of it’s owner of but don’t take my word for it. Look at this incredibly delicious creation he put together with the famous biscuits. A heaping scoop of suadero (brisket), guac, grilled onions & jalapeños, mayo, salsa macha and a fried egg inside a perfect biscuit 🤤

Hope y’all get a chance to catch this special, but if you don’t this go-around hopefully there’s a next time! Special shout out to who surprised me with this special delivery for lunch. I’m seriously such a lucky dude!!!

Birria with a Filipino twist!

I was finally able to check out for the first time. They have Filipino classics like Lechon Kawali and Chicken Adobo, but they also have birria tacos!

If you’re an “authentic” birria snob, these won’t be your vibe, but if you’re into some big bite, cheddar cheesy, jalapeño chunky birria tacos these are a must try! I was pleasantly surprised when I took my first bite. As a cheddar lover it was really interesting and taste good. I will also say I was a big fan of their salsa too! PS they also have pork belly sisig birria tacos for a true Filipino fusion experience!

Here’s what to do…walk inside and order from the screen, get your order super fast (usually within 5 min) and go sit outside to enjoy their spacious patio under an umbrella in this beautiful weather. Can’t go wrong with their Dole whip soft serve dairy free ice cream too!

There’s a “hot” new taco popup happening…

From Austin to LA and back to Austin is here and if you haven’t tried them this is your sign! This hip and cool concept was born from the owners of and has been all over the media since launching in LA a while back.

The pop up is here for a bit so make sure to check out their tacos, including their famous cochinita pibil tacos. The pork is marinated in orange juice, achiote, habanero, and served with red onion escabeche with a touch of cilantro between two perfectly crispy corn tortillas.

If that ain’t your thing, they do have fish, chicken, beef and vegan (cauliflower pastor) options! The quesadilla was pretty 💣 too. I got to snag one of their awesome hats and I love it so much!

They say size matters…

Well if it tastes like this breakfast burrito then size does matter because you get more! A perfect scramble of all my favorites like chorizo, eggs, potatoes and cheese all wrapped up in a flour tortilla. I’d say is probably my favorite food truck burrito in Austin! Next time I go I’ll have to grab the San Diego burrito to show y’all. I was just craving breakfast this time 😁

Also pictured is one of their tacos for size comparison. The tacos are pretty big and I’ll post about em soon 😉

Closest thing to a sushi taco I’ve ever eaten…👀

These two spicy tuna tacos on wonton shells were almost everything I ever wanted in what I’d imagine is in a sushi taco. They were meaty and had a nice texture with every bite. When I order it again, I’ll for a sliced jalapeños for a little extra kick 😉

I promise I’ll get to the tacos, but I also got to tell you about this Mexican hotdog I ate at the other day.

Let me tell you why I love this place. 1) They sell AND tacos. 2) The food truck gets its badass name after the owner Ivan’s equally badass Fiona (swipe for picture). 3) It’s located in the backyard of (you can order from outside the bar too). 4) Lastly, this place offers a condensed menu bringing you some delicious flair to classics like hotdogs, tacos and fries and offers weekly specials too.

Need a side to go with your tacos and giant hotdog? Let’s talk fries. They are smothered in a secret style sauce with a Mexican cheese mix that includes asadero, muenster and cheddar all topped with a homemade avocado green salsa. Talk about finger lickin’ good.

The ELP Tacos are they the best sellers for a reason. These are basically rolled taquitos, fried and drowned in a similar sauce as the fries with cheese, but has a spicy chili broth added on top. Served with fork, these tacos are firm and crisp to the bite. I loved the flavor of the chili mixed with the melted cheese. Incredible!

The OG dog is just amazing. A footlong, bacon wrapped 100% beef dog, with chile con and frijoles de la olla (whole pinto beans). Get this “doggystyle” if you want a mix of your traditional condiments.

Ivan started off at crowbar on back in April of last year, but recently made the move. He started off with just bacon wrapped hot dogs and nachos. Over time, he’s been expanding his menu and staying true to his roots in El Paso pulling in culinary influence from and

Happy Taco Tuesday! I took an al “pas-tour” on Rundberg to visit and treated myself to Raul’s most popular taco.

If you haven’t figured it out, it’s the al pastor. 😁 He recommended both corn and flour tortillas so, naturally, I got one of each. You’re welcome!

I just realized I’ve been on al pastor binge lately! A couple things to note before we get to the taco itself. As I understand, Raul is Rosita’s son from Rosita’s Al Pastor so you know he knows what’s up. Also, the itself is next to a bunch of other really cool other ones including Honduran, Salvadoreño and fruit vendors. The latter had some tasty looking mangos.

Raul’s Al Pastor taco comes with marinated pork sliced from the then topped with the traditional chopped cilantro and onion with a lime wedge on the side. Honestly, both were good, but I just liked it better on corn. Also, I would put it on the top 5 al pastor tacos I’ve had so far on my quest. Where is your favorite from? Comment below and I’ll check it out if I haven’t already!

Recently named a top 10 taco joint in Austin by the El Mana is serving up some hefty breakfast tacos over in the Cherrywood area.

Happy Taco Tuesday! For today’s taco feature I give you the Ash taco from El Mana, which unfortunately you will not find on IG. They do have a Facebook presence though. This taco combines breakfast classics such as potato, chorizo, egg, refried beans and melted cheese piled on a homemade flour tortilla to make your day start off right!

You may have been before when it was called Camila’s tacos, but the food is the same. Not to be confused with the famous Mexican rock band El Mana is a Mexican food truck specializing in breakfast tacos, among other menu items like enchiladas and Mexican hotdogs.

I usually hear about taqueros and taqueras making homemade corn or flour tortillas, but rarely do I hear both! The owner gets up daily at 5am to make dozens of corn AND flour tortillas to stock up for the day. Not only this, but she also makes her own salsa throughout the day as needed.

She makes both jalapeño and chile de árbol salsas by first frying the peppers, then adds her special condiments before blending them. She doesn’t seem to compromise flavor and freshness for convenience as she showed me her and (swipe to see). Either way make sure to stop by as they are next to the Monarch Food Mart. Tacos and tires. When you visit lalibertad you’ll find both.

Happy Taco Tuesday! Nestled in on the same lot as a tire and auto shop, lalibertad is serving up some awesomeness till the wheels fall off! Today’s feature is their 🍤 🌮 a combination of grilled shrimp and carmelized onions topped with a pinch of cilantro and lime served on a handmade tortilla. Swipe right to see.

I also tried the bistek, suadero and campechano tacos; all were very good. I chose the green salsa which was creamy and delicious. Their prices were awesome too! Most tacos were under $2 with just a handful of speciality items at $2.50 each. Another great perk...they serve BREAKFAST ALL DAY!

There are fewer and fewer Austin staples around these days. With that said, is celebrating their 30 year anniversary in just a couple of months and that’s pretty cool to see! Can you imagine 30 years?!! I had the chance to visit them a few days ago for the first time. If you haven’t been, they are famously known for their breakfast tacos and queso. Also, for being one of the few spots serving breakfast tacos until 3 pm! 🤯

I got there a little later so I tried as much as I could fit in my belly, including their crowd favorite crispy ground beef taco. My personal favorites were the and and which paired deliciously with a cold while I took in the ☀️ rays out on their patio. Also important to note, they have great specials and are planning a cool flight for next weekend.

Overall, this is a super cool place to hangout on the east side. If you have kids, you should know the small ones eat free on Tuesdays! Also, make sure to ask about their cool Mi Madres t-shirt; I snagged me one.

Happy Taco Tuesday! Calling all and lovers in the and surrounding areas. We have a new, deliciously mouth watering joint in town called and I’m adding a new personal favorite they are calling El Jefe which combines a special blend of cactus and potato hash, a hunky slice of then finished with some South Texas style on top of a flour tortilla. If you need a little extra kick try one of their three house-made salsas: Bronco Sauce, Creamy Anaheim Verde, or Tamarind-Guajillo BBQ.

Besides an obvious first choice name for a horse trailer transformed to food truck, the inspiration came from old rodeo postcards that owner has collected over the years. He’d been sitting on the idea for about 3 years, so when the Mickelthwait team decided to make this happen we all knew it’d be good food!

The folks have amazing tacos, but they are also serving up other tasty sandwiches, meats by the plate with sides, and other favorites like Nachos Compuestos all true to their “cowboy cooking” style. Did I mention they have Vegan-friendly options and don’t animal fat in their sides? You can find them in the backyard of on Thursday - Sunday from 4:30-9:30 PM. So grab a seat (outdoor seating plentiful), bring the family (furry ones can come too) and enjoy amazing food and drinks ( craft beer onsite).
