This photo snapped by in Cottesloe reminds me of where this tour all began, the Phillipines.
From 2015 to 2017 I worked on a yacht, travelling from one exotic island to the next. A lavish life filled with coconuts, margaritas and late nights followed by early mornings.
I worked and lived with the best crew you could possibly ask for (miss you zeepaard crew xx) and despite the beautiful sandy beaches, blue water and the all year round summer I began to develop a lack of appreciation for it all.
The sunsets you see on the post cards and littered all over Instagram, the water that people save all their money for a year to travel and go swim in, just wasn’t beautiful anymore. I lost the colour in life and felt stuck in a rut.
While sitting on anchor in the Phillipines one night, stuck in my sorry head listening to a podcast to cheer me up I happened to hear them mention Penny Farthings.
With my brain so desperately searching for a way to heal itself before I knew it my fingers were tapping away on a contact us form to .com.au looking for details on obtaining one of these ancient relics.
Almost 3 years later I am about to embark on a 6500km journey and I couldn’t be more excited about what it has grown into.
Scroll across so you can read where it all started back in January 2017.
Hope you all had a Happy Thursday!
Much love
