In 'Closed Book' I take a subtle look at a society's habit of placing pastors and spiritual leaders on an unwavering pedestal. We often forget that these individuals are human, with their own vulnerabilities, struggles, and moments of weakness. The film serves as a reminder that behind the pulpit, beneath the robe, and within the congregation, there exists the complexity of human experience. Through this narrative, we delve into the life of Rev. Blake, a spiritual guide, who grapples with his own doubts, demons, and imperfections. We aim to peel back the layers of perception to reveal the shared humanity that binds us all. This film is not an indictment of faith but a call for empathy and understanding, encouraging viewers to acknowledge the common thread of our humanity, irrespective of our roles or beliefs. 'Closed Book' is challenging us to recognize that even the most revered among us can hurt and bleed, and that in understanding their fallibility, we may find a deeper and more compassionate connection with our own humanity."
