According to a number of sources, it's money that comes from taxpayers (that would be all of us who work and have taxes taken out of our pay before we see the money). Yet, private business hold the bag and they don't want to let it go. It's a whole head trip that is so out-of-pocket (pun intended).

One of the best things that we can do as Black women (sistas) is to simply acknowledge each other. I.e, say, "hello" or, "hey gurl/girl, what's up?" When we do we are saying, "I see you." It gives us presence to each other and begins to put a shield of protection around us. It's a shield that we have always needed. So, just say hello to another sista today. There will be some who won't know what to do with it. Pray for them. Most of us will appreciate the connect.
