JUNE 10TH, 2021 in JUNE 10TH, 2022.
Finima Community in Bonny Local Government Area.

It is important to reiterate that on this faithful day (June 10th 2021) as a Community we went on a peaceful protest after all dialoging approaches by our Community had failed on the alter of obvious refusal by NLNG in recognising Finima as HOST with all accruing rights and benefits.

With clear conscience and clearly defined purpose, we went on this protest demanding the recognition of our status as HOST COMMUNITY to NLNG of course even as succinctly expressed in the Community Content Guidline (CCG) by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) established in 2010 by the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act, 2010 to coordinate all Nigerian content affairs where "Host Community" is defined as the community where oil and gas operations/projects take place, but unfortunately while we were going about our peaceful protest, people we call brothers of the same Kingdom came equipped with several deadly weapons and attacked us; sticks thrusted with nails, machetes etc were all used on us leaving us severely injured with several cuts and so much pains which many still suffer until date, properties worth millions destroyed and our aged parents left in shock and fear, and children crying.
It was a red day with pains and stains of blood everywhere.

Such inhuman, wicked and barbaric act is unheard-of in our land and yet, leading institutions in the Kingdom couldn't condemn it. This evidenced how hated we are as a people by our own brothers with whom we share all our rights and privileges. We gave up our ancestral land and beautiful environment for oil exploration for the betterment of all, even the entire Nation and all we get is little or nothing. We are constantly shortchanged and marginalised and yet, we have maintained a peaceful disposition, logical and lawful in our expression of all of these. It's a good course and we'll not back down.

However, today, we say NEVER AGAIN!
Never Again should our Community be invaded and our people injured for speaking up for their rights.
Never Again should this mayhem happen in Finima.

For those who perpetuated this evil, they shall not go unpunished as we insist justice be done though the heavens fall.

They think they can heal this bleeding heart

Leniency cannot be demanded after you struck my fragile soul with your hostility and bitterness,

How can you enliven shredded and ignored heart?
Or a peaceful heart that was abandoned to face many battles without arms or sword

You can cry now but your tears can’t irrigate all of my thirsty dried veins
I guess it is too late
Your words of clemency reverberate in the hasty wind and vanish like a lave footprint in a shore that never come back

Your name won’t pulsate, you are the bad past
And like a horrible unpleasant screenplay, now it has just passed
