✨ Exclusively Pumping ✨

I’ve been pumping for surro baby and she has enough milk to get to a year now 💙 with that being said, yesterday was my last day pumping for her and today was the first day pumping for another little one who is expected to arrive next month.

It’s so bittersweet. My first surrogacy journey is truly done now. Im so grateful to have been a small part in helping my wonderful IPs bring home their baby. And I’m so glad I was able to provide enough milk for her to have for a year. 💙 🍼

We went to visit surro baby about a week ago 💙 it’s crazy how much she’s grown in 3 months. I’m so grateful to have this relationship with her and her parents and I can’t wait until the next time we see each other! 💙

When I’m up for my middle of the night pump, I have to remind myself that not everyone is also up at 4am and now is not a good time to respond to all the texts that have been sitting there unanswered 😅😂

✨ 2023 ✨

What a year!!! We went to our first NFL game, travelled to San Diego for the embryo transfer for surrogacy, got POSITIVE home tests, many summer music nights, got engaged in Disney and went to Mickeys not so scary Halloween party, celebrated Oliver’s 2nd birthday, delivered surro baby, went back to Florida and went to Mickey’s very merry Christmas party.

Of course there were also lots of Target trips, family time, and friend time. 💙 Bring on 2024!

One of the top questions I get asked is: “would you do it again?”

And my answer is always: “I would do it a million more times if I could!”

Already missing being pregnant 🤪

TMI but also not really

My pump died 2 sucks in at 4am last night and I wish I could see what I looked like trying to figure out the situation 😂 milk was everywhere. To top it off, my wearable wasn’t connected properly so that also didn’t help the situation. 😅

✨ Birth Story ✨ TW: surgery, blood

8am: I got to the hospital for preop for the scheduled c section due to baby measuring large and having polyhydramnios. They weren’t comfortable with me trying for a VBAC due to these risks and me measuring 45 weeks at my 38 week appointment. I was told my surgery for 10am would likely be pushed back to a an urgent c section that came In.

9:40am I was told that everything is ready and it was time to go back! Ahead of schedule! I got brought to the OR and received the spinal which was very different than my unscheduled c section with Oliver. With my c section with Oliver, I didn’t feel anything, not even the pressure. This time I felt every tug they were making and them pushing on my ribs to help get baby out.

10:05am baby girl was born weighing 9 pounds 3 ounces (my son was 6 pounds 6 ounces!) and 21 3/4 inches long.

Overall surgery was smooth, however, I started hemorrhaging in recovery. They tried many interventions and nothing was stopping/slowing down my bleeding. I lost over 2 liters outside of surgery. My doctor said she never saw the jada tube fill so much so fast and brought up a hysterectomy, which was extremely scary. Back to the OR we went to be put under and where they placed a bakri balloon and were able to get the bleeding under control saving my life, and also my uterus. I was told part of my placenta was placenta accreta and wasn’t caught until the c section, which they believed was part of what caused the hemorrhage.

I’m so glad I went through this surrogacy journey and had such a wonderful experience and a wonderful set of IPs. They even brought baby down from their floor to mine for me to feed baby because it was easier for me than pumping (and so I could enjoy some baby snuggles too 😉💙) Watching them leave the hospital as a family made me so happy. I can’t wait to watch this little one grow. 💙

And just like that, she’s here. 💙

This journey has been absolutely amazing. I had a truly perfect match, and I’m so blessed to have gone through this journey with them.

I’ll share my side of the birth story soon, but for now I can truly say I’m so happy. “I did it!” was what I said when she was born, and I can’t wait to watch this little one grow 💙 Today was bittersweet as she was discharged from the hospital to go home with her parents and I am still here, but she is so healthy and happy, which was exactly what I have prayed for.

Feel free to ask any questions you have surrounding surrogacy in general, this journey specifically, or about the birth/postpartum!

I was fully expecting my milk to take a while to come in due to the birth, but baby latched so well and once she got discharged, I started pumping! First pump was 5ml, second was 25ml. 🐄

✨ First Haircut in Disney ✨

Oliver had his first haircut in Disney! It was such a magical experience. 💙

I was worried about how he was going to do, but between the AMAZING barber and bubbles, he did great. If you’re going to be in Magic Kingdom and your little one is due for their first haircut, I highly suggest taking them to Harmony Barber Shop on Main Street. Included in their cut is Mickey ears that say “My 1st Haircut” and a bravery certificate 💙

✨Third Trimester ✨

We made it to the third trimester and spent the beginning of it in Disney! Technically I’m now 29 weeks haha… I’m a little behind at the milestones.

I’m still feeling great- just having lotsss of acid reflux which is not pleasant. I failed my 1 hour gestational diabetes test and have the 3 hour one this week. I’m praying that it goes well and I pass with flying colors. 🤞

The IPs baby shower is coming up and I was invited to come! It’ll be so special to celebrate them and baby at their shower and I feel so honored to be invited.

Less than 10 weeks until it’s baby time! 💙

✨(Over) half baked!! ✨

We made it to viability week 🎉! 24 weeks down and 15 more to go with this little one until they get to meet their parents 💙

So far I’ve been feeling pretty good aside from the acid reflux that has started 🙃 I am loving this journey 💙
