NEWS: Sarah Aubrey, Head of Programming at MAX and Producer Alison Schapker (“Westworld” / “Altered Carbon” / “The Flash”) have announced that their series Dune: Prophecy will receive a 2nd season. Both are excited to continue with the entire team and expand their “corner” of the Dune universe. A worldwide success, the series was particularly rejected by German-speaking fans. “Arrakis is not Westeros!” was usually the tenor.

NEWS: Universal has revealed on X that Christopher Nolan's new film will be based on Homer's Odyssey and will be a mythical action epic shot in state-of-the-art IMAX technology in locations around the world and will be released in cinemas on July 17, 2026. NEWS: Universal hat auf X verraten, dass der neue Film von Christopher Nolan die Odyssee nach Homer zum Thema haben wird und ein mythisches Actionepos in modernster IMAX-Technologie gedreht, an Schauplätzen auf der ganzen Welt, am 17.07.2026 in die Kinos kommt. Imho: Wir werden ja sehen wie sich Odysseus bei Nolan als Vampirjäger macht.

NEWS: Forbes reports that Andor is the most expensive Disney Star Wars project of all time. The 1st season had a budget of 250 million US dollars, the 2nd even 291 million US dollars. Disney stated the ongoing costs (due to post-production) at a total of 644.9 million US dollars and received 129.2 million US dollars in tax credits to reduce costs. That makes a total cost of 515.7 million US dollars and beats previous Star Wars films with a budget of between 200-300 million US dollars by a long shot. Imho: The best Star Wars series for many, is probably absolutely worth it!

NEWS: Forbes berichtet, dass Andor das bisher teuerste Disney-Star Wars-Projekt aller Zeiten ist. Die 1. Staffel hatte ein Budget von 250 Millionen US-Dollar, die 2. sogar 291 Millionen US-Dollar. Disney gab die noch laufenden Kosten (wegen Postproduktion) mit gesamt 644,9 Millionen US-Dollar an und erhielt als Steuergutschriften zur Senkung der Kosten 129,2 Millionen US-Dollar. Das macht insgesamt also 515,7 Millionen US-Dollar Kosten und schlägt bisherige Star Wars-Filme die zwischen 200-300 Millionen US-Dollar Budget hatten um Längen. Imho: Die für viele beste Star Wars-Serie, ist das aber vermutlich absolut wert!

Amazon möchte demnach eine größere Vermarktung mit Serien, Spin-offs und so weiter, was Broccoli, Rechteinhaberin des Bond-Franchise, ablehnt. Sie hat in dem Artikel betont, bei der bisherigen Ausrichtung, einzig mit Kinofilmen, bleiben zu wollen und auch nicht davor zurückgeschreckt die Amazon-Produzenten mit Schimpfwörtern zu belegen. Außerdem sei dadurch die Suche nach dem neuen Hauptdarsteller ebenfalls zum Erliegen gekommen.
