Happy September! We pushed pause on our podcast to spend the summer as a family of 6. Then, our littlest one had to have reconstructive skull surgery last month so we continued our break to get through his recovery. Thank you for continuing to catch up on previous podcast episodes. We celebrated Father’s Day and our miracle baby’s 1st birthday today! Jordan was born 15 weeks early and lived in the NICU for 5 months. We have much to be thankful for, including all our marriage coaching clients and podcast community that continued to support us through our busiest time of parenting so far.

1. You have the same argument again and again without resolution

LIFE UPDATE: Today is our baby’s due date yet he’s already 104 days old! Jordan is still in the NICU, but his lungs get stronger each day. He currently weighs 7lbs 12oz which is a good size considering he was 1lb 13oz at birth.

We also survived Hurricane Ian here in Florida and were some of the fortunate ones who had minimal cleanup today. Our prayers go out to those who were extremely impacted!

Even if we don’t post on social media daily during this hospital/baby season, we still have our weekly Marriage Puzzle podcast and do our coaching calls on Monday and Friday evenings. Let us know if you ever want to chat!

If you’re following along with our baby’s hospital journey, here’s an update…

Jordan successfully came off the ventilator last week which was a huge answer to prayer! He still has chronic lung disease, but is slowly progressing with respiratory support.

Currently, he weighs 5lbs 10oz (was 1lb 13oz at birth), is 37 weeks gestation today (born at 25 weeks), and will be 12 weeks old tomorrow. It’s not looking like he will be graduating from the NICU on his due date later this month, so our new desire is to have him home by the holidays.

If he is able to dress up for Halloween with his big brothers and sister, what is your suggestion for costumes that coordinate 4 kids? 🎃 (We know it’s not October yet, but it’ll give us something to look forward to.)

After 75 days on the ventilator, today is the day our baby Jordan (who was born 15 weeks early) will be getting his breathing tube out of his mouth and trial a CPAP for respiratory support. Please join us in praying Jordan’s lungs do not collapse, that he will not need to be intubated again, and that he can handle breathing on his own with a nasal cannula for oxygen.

This time last year, we had our first ultrasound for baby #4. A month later, the second ultrasound showed no heartbeat.
