how could she forget?? The same man who haunted her dreams, the same man she tried to desperately avoid, the same man who showed her the horrors laying beneath his mask. After all these years trying to escape fate, she tried everything in her power just to avoid him.
She changed her name, her identity, even her ownself just so that he wouldn't recognize her or was it truly a coincidence for them to meet?? Had he truly known before where she stayed all these years?? What she truly is through her fake identity?? Then why did he wait for years and finally decided to show up??
All these questions plagued her mind like a parasite eating her away, she couldn't remove the crippling anxiety creeping it's way to her. The mere thought of him taking her away set her nerves alight, she knew her days of bliss ends near.
"oy! Nathalie! Quit daydreaming we got work to do! I still fu***ng need that paycheck!" the pianist whispered shouted at her that snap her out of her thoughts. She gripped the mic pole tightly, trying to calm herself at that very moment.
She knew it wasn't the best time to panic, despite her knowing that he might have already see through her. Those eyes of his tell more than enough to know his thoughts, yet she wouldn't let him take away her very freedom. She already have saved enough to finally leave this place once and for all and it could last her for months, maybe find a job with better wage than what she's dealing right now.
All she needs is to plan her new escape, she need a new identity also and a new disguise. She thought to herself before taking a deep breath and smile once again at the crowd, avoiding the eyes of his as the crowd cheers loudly.
"ehem... Hit it!!" she shouted, with the snap of her fingers the band start jazzing as she dances to the beat.
