DITCH THE PLASTIC 💪
Anybody looking to make quick and simple changes to help the environment should definitely use reusable bottles 👍
According to Plastic Soup Foundation, the world uses over one million 'single use' plastic bottles per minute! 😯
And even when we put them in the recycling pile and pat ourselves on the back for a job well done, most still end up littering landfill 😥
Making the switch to reusable saves so much waste and energy, and they can look pretty too! 🌍
If you've already made the switch share a snap of yours below 👇

Great to see that Ghost Diving have shared the article we wrote! These big organisations are doing so much work to protect marine wildlife and we're so proud to raise awareness. This cannot carry on!
16/04/2021
If you haven’t already, please read this! Absolutely heartbreaking to see what marine debris does to wildlife and we need to start acting NOW!
Please support organisations and volunteers who are working tirelessly to help injured and entangled animals!
We’ll keep sharing this because it is so important and you should too...
A seal pup was found on Redcar beach with monofilament fishing wire stuck around its face and cutting into its neck.
16/04/2021
Just look at all of this mess...
It's so dangerous for wildlife and it's all underneath the surface of the sea.
We talked to a volunteer this morning who removes what he can from the local area to try to help out.
Story to follow!

PLEASE READ AND SHARE! WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT ENTANGLEMENT!
We need to raise awareness about the impact that marine debris has on marine wildlife!
Huge shout out to all of the brilliant work carried out by British Divers Marine Life Rescue. The work they do is absolutely fantastic.
And we're happy to report that this seal made it back to the water safely thanks to the help it received! 👍

A seal pup was found on Redcar beach with monofilament fishing wire stuck around its face and cutting into its neck.

WARNING! WOUNDED SEAL PUP PICTURED!
We found a poor seal pup entangled in fishing wire today on Redcar beach.
A volunteer from British Divers Marine Life Rescue came along and removed the wire from around the animal's neck.
They also returned later to check on the seal and waited with it to ensure that it was safe until ready to enter the water.
Their amazing work ensured that the seal was safe and had the help it needed.
We've made the decision to share this story because we HAVE to raise awareness about entanglement from marine debris and plastic pollution. The consequences are absolutely heartbreaking to see.
Luckily this beautiful one got the help it needed, but there are countless numbers of other marine wildlife fatalities caused by entanglement.
Story following soon...please read to fully understand just how devastating marine debris is to wildlife

Did you know that in the Philippines students have to plant 10 trees before they can graduate? 👨🏻🎓👩🏼🎓
It was suggested that this would result in over 175 million trees being planted each year! 🌱
Do you think that this law should be introduced in the UK? 💭

Did you know that some of the earliest toothbrushes were actually made out of bamboo in China? 💭
But nowadays plastic toothbrushes contribute to plastic pollution and can take around 500 years to decompose 🪥
Using a bamboo toothbrush means you can remove the bristles so that the handle can be composted or reused around the house 🏠
TOP TIP! They make great vegetable patch markers to show where you've planted things! 🌱

TOP TIP TUESDAY AGAIN! 👍
And this week our tip is to KEEP YOUR PLASTIC CONTAINERS!
So often we talk to people just getting started on their eco-friendly journey thinking they've got to throw away all their plastics to be sustainable.
THAT'S NOT TRUE!
If you've got a plastic container you've had for years that works for you, great! Keep going with it! And maybe when it's finally had it's day, then swap it for a more emvironmenally-friendly option. Discarding plastic that is still usable is the problem.
(Plus you'll need some containers to take down to your local refill shop. We'll be taking this one down to The Cut Back) 🥰
