HIRE BENAKAL - It is one of largest megalithic burial sites (Necropolis) in Karnataka, India, estimated to be 3000 years old. Known as ‘Elu Guddagalu’ in Kannada language, which means ‘Seven hillocks’, this site consists of around 400 megalithic structures (dolmens) built between 800 BCE to 200 BCE (that falls between Neolithic and the Iron Age periods).

Locating this temple is a task as there are no proper sign boards to reach to this place. This is right in between Virupaksha temple and Vijaya Vittala temple, and behind Sugrivas cave. You have to climb plenty of boulders ,and this place is located right on some of the top most boulders. This is right on the bank of Thungabadra river. No vehicle or even cycles can go to this place. You only need to walk. On the way there are plenty of other carvings such as Lord Vishunus, Ganpati etc. A must visit place.

Virupaksha Hampi Bazaar
The famous Hampi Bazaar also called as Virupaksha bazaar due to its locaiton at the forefront of Virupaksha Temple. This locaiton was used by residents as market, the arcades here are open with no dorrs. The merchants used to sell accessories, Jewelary, precious stones, clothes, emerald, rubies, dimonds openly in this market.
