I bumped into DESMOND TUTU in the passageway between the refectory and church at Southwark Cathedral. He was walking towards me with a group of ten or so followers. What should I do to express my admiration for him - the brain synapses were no help.Maybe i should DO THE TUTU DANCE but feared it was more THE TWIST than THE TUTU. I could see the puzzlement on his face as he turned to an aide..'why's that fellow dancing to Chubby Checker?' Maybe I should explain my pivotal role in bringing down apartheid by the anti-Springboks rugby tour riot in 1970? 'It's not all about you Bone' came an inner voice.
In a minute he was gone but I swear he twinkled at me. I was in the presence of a great courageous man - a man who's twinkle was an epiphany' I sat down in the cathedral courtyard as the sub dappled down through the trees and people scurried by and thought for an hour or so about my politics. I should have danced.

The home secretary, Priti Patel, appointed Dan O’Mahoney last year as “small boat commander”. According to the Home Office, his brief is to make the Channel route of entry to the UK “unviable” for the growing numbers of migrants setting off from Calais and Dunkirk.
His real job title is ' CLANDESTINE CHANNEL THREAT COMMANDER' and as such he refuses to say whether he was informed of the sinking of the boat carrying the 27 WHILE IT WAS ACTUALY SINKING and appeals for help were being made to English coastguards. Not our job was the response to desperate pleas.
