*WHAT TO THANK GOD FOR AT THE END OF YEAR.*
Many people thank God they saw the end of the year, but that is not the issue. Armed killers are also alive now, seeing the end of the year. When what you thank God for is what they experience also, your life does not glorify God. Paul says in Phil.1:21 that to die is better than to see the end of a year. There are many young believers who fulfilled God's purposes for their lives and died this year, who are far better, than those still living as Satan's instruments of destruction, or those living without a heavenly purpose to pursue. The reason to thank God for seeing the end of the year is because you have used the year to do fruitful work for Christ (Phil.1:22.) The Bible records that a living dog is better than a dead lion. The writer is talking about a dog that is faithful to it's Master. No man will be rewarded for longevity of years, but for work done while in the body. Please, let us put aside the emotional thanksgiving and ask ourselves: how useful have we been to God this passing year? Let's thank Him for giving us life to bring Him pleasure through our assignments on earth. Our Lord Jesus said to our heavenly Father: " l have completed the work You gave Me. I have brought You glory" (John 17:4), not that l have seen the end of the year. May our thanksgivings be: "Father thank You for helping us complete the work You gave us this year; thus bringing You glory.
