Overview
The 14 West Hamilton Street Club (14WHSC) is seeking a Bartender/Server.
This position is unique and very important to our club environment. 14WHSC is a nearly 100 year old, historic lunch and supper club for approximately 140 members who enjoy a fine meal and conversation. With a staff of four, we employ a Chef+ & House Manager, Bookkeeper, Sous Chef, and a Bartender/Server. We serve anywhere from 4-45 members & guests per event (we hire additional staff for larger events).
Restaurant Industry experience is what we seek - FOH experience is necessary. This is a close-knit “family” atmosphere, and a positive & friendly attitude is vital. Exceptional customer service, dependability, and the ability to work both supervised, and unsupervised are a must. This is an hourly position that pays $16 per hour, with a 3 month probationary period.
Position Summary:
Responsible for Bar, Parlour, Deck, 2 Dining Rooms, Bar Kitchen, Stairs and Club Members -
Before Service
Weekly staff meeting
Set-up bar
Set tables
Maintain - vacuum / trash removal / light bulb replacement / dust / water plants / & similar
Keep bar inventory
During Service
Care and feeding of club members and their guests
Bartend
Meal Service
After Service
Breakdown
Wash linens
Assist with washing dishes as needed
Other Important -
Get to know member’s names and dietary restrictions
Know First Aid, how to use an AED, and how to assist someone who’s choking
Maintain good covid 19 protocol and overall health & safety measures, second nature to you
Set-up, or assist with AV equipment for lectures, as needed
Direct temporary FOH staff, as needed
Answer phones as needed
Basic familiarity with building systems such as HVAC and furnace controls, location of the gas and water shut-off, and breaker boxes
You are expected at all Club Events unless otherwise arranged
Hours
Schedule varies between 16 - 24 hours weekly
Schedule posted several weeks and months in advance
Standard schedule, subject to change:
Tuesday - Friday 11am - 3pm
2 Wednesdays monthly will be 4pm - 10pm (not 11 - 3, and not a double)
1 Saturday monthly 10am - 4pm
1 Thursday monthly in October - April 11am - 10pm (a double, and includes dinner, break, & tips)
