When wit and irony meet artistic worldly genius, we get Eric Stefanski's pieces. For an artist to create objects that are visually pleasing to the eye is no simple feat, but it is not rare. Anyone can find a pretty painting and purchase it for the sake of just looking. However, the ability to invent art that is both aesthetically satisfying while being meaningful in some way is a challenge few can conquer. But if there is an emerging artist who flawlessly succeeds at this, it is Eric Stefanski.

Polyester, the second most used textile globally, has long been an environmental concern due to its plastic composition, predominantly polyethylene terephthalate (PET), which doesn't biodegrade. This synthetic fabric, ubiquitous in clothing and everyday items, poses recycling challenges, especially in blended forms like poly-cotton, where separating plastic from cotton has proven difficult. However, a breakthrough discovery by young chemists from the University of Copenhagen offers a promising solution in separating and breaking down the materials using an unexpected household ingredient.

Over the last few days, the Issued team has been following the news about the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. We were saddened to hear about how many children and women are fleeing Ukraine, and how men 18+ will not be permitted beyond the borders as they may be drafted in the war. Today, we donated money to the UNHCR and posted an existing fundraiser to our page where you can support the cause. The UNHCR provides critical support to refugees- helping save, protect and rebuild the lives of millions who flee violence and persecution. 100% of the donations will be sent to the UNHCR from this fundraiser without a fee. $60 can provide clean water for 60 refugees in an emergency situation; $120 can provide tarps to protect 8 family shelters from the weather.
