Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 11pm Tonight.
Coming soon..
Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 11pm Tonight.
TODAY: We’ll see two waves of thunderstorm chances today. The first round will be early this morning and should come to an end around the late morning hours. The severe threat for this first round is low. Once this batch moves through we’ll see a break in thunderstorm activity. It’s going to be hot and humid with highs in the upper 80s. Another round of thunderstorms is possible later this afternoon and evening. These thunderstorms may be on the stronger side with large hail, damaging winds and the chance for a tornado.
Air quality will also be an issue today. There will be some improvements during the afternoon as winds begin to switch out of the south. The air quality alert continues through early Friday morning.
We’re in line to receive several rounds of rain and storms through the end of June and into July. We’ll also track heat and high humidity with severe storm potential.
Wednesday night:
A few spotty showers may be possible during the first half of tonight. Then, a complex of showers and storms will slide in closer to sunrise Thursday. Hazy skies will remain with us as well.

Tornado watch is likely!
SUNDAY: A slight risk is in effect across a large portion of Indiana for tomorrow afternoon. Widespread damaging wind gusts, large to very large hail, and a couple tornadoes will be the hazards.
Two rounds of storms are expected. Round 1 being between 2AM - 8AM EDT with only a damaging wind risk. Round 2 will be 2PM - 10PM EDT with the more intense thunderstorms expected in the afternoon round.
Seasonable temperatures for the end of the week with a big warm up just in time for the weekend.
Partly to mostly cloudy skies throughout much of the state today. We’re starting off mild with temperatures in the 60s. Highs climb into the upper 70s and lower 80s today, which is much closer to normal this time of the year. It’s going to be a bit breezy with winds out of the east. They may gust at times up to about 20 miles per hour at time.
Summer begins tomorrow! A few rain chances in this next 8-DAY forecast, but nothing along the lines of all-day washouts. Temperatures into the mid to upper 80s this weekend in central Indiana.
Filtered sunshine today with near normal temperatures and low humidity.
We may see a little hazy sunshine today from some smoke due to wildfires in southern Canada. Air quality shouldn’t be a major issue but those who are sensitive may see some concerns in southern Indiana. A cold front moved through the area overnight and that will allow for temperatures to be much cooler than yesterday. Highs today stay in the upper 70s near 80 for much of the state.
TONIGHT: The haze continues into the evening hours. It will stay dry and comfortable with lows falling into the 50s once again. Look for another comfortably cool evening.
Temperatures will jump back to above the seasonal average. A few rain chances are possible coming out of the weekend.
Mid-level low that brought showers to the area Tuesday remains to our north. While most of the rain has pushed east, there’s still a lot of cloud cover overhead, which will likely stick around for much of the day. In addition, a few light showers can’t be ruled out later this afternoon.
One more day of overhead wildfire smoke before our best chance for widespread precipitation moves in for the end of the weekend.
Air quality alerts are again in place for most of the state, as northeasterly winds continue to drag down smoke from the ongoing wildfires in Canada.
Outside of that, it should be another really nice day. Highs should hover around 80° with lots of sunshine this afternoon.
Dry air is firmly in place waking up in central Indiana this Saturday morning. This will play a huge role in our forecast this weekend.
Mostly sunny start, clouds increase throughout the day. High temperatures to around 80 degrees.
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy skies take hold. Low temperatures in the mid to upper 50s.
SUNDAY/INDY 500: Mostly cloudy, but dry as an upper-level low spins to our south and east. Central Indiana will have a lot of dry air in place, so any showers from this system will be confined to possibly a few sprinkles in the south and eastern sections of Indiana. Temperatures will be slightly cooler than Saturday with these clouds with highs in the mid-70s
8-DAY FORECAST: Memorial Day will be back under partly cloudy skies. Temperatures are really set to warm up mid to late week. High temperatures will be in the upper 80s and possibly low 90s during this stretch. Dry conditions should remain with no major system on the way, but the chance of isolated pop-storms will be present late-week.
Summer temps continue for another day, with dry conditions continuing for the long term.
Another summer like day, with temperatures running nearly 10° above average. An approaching cold front will bring a few clouds into the area later this afternoon. Highs top out in the mid 80s.
Temperatures will continue to run nearly 10° above average through Wednesday.
We remain under the influence of high pressure, meaning clear skies, quiet conditions, and very warm temperatures. Expect plenty of sunshine and highs in the mid 80s.
Pleasant conditions continue as temperatures continue to warm. A brief shot of rain moves in before we head into the weekend.
We’re still dealing with a bit of haze and smoke in the upper atmosphere form wildfires in Canada. No impact is expected at the surface, but again we should see some beautiful colors for daybreak. Winds will shift to the south this afternoon which should tone down the overhead smoke. Highs top out in the mid 70s.
Beautiful weather settles in for the next couple of days before rain returns ahead of the weekend.
Cold front has moved through the state, and continues to mix clouds out of the area. Some areas of fog have been noted in far southern Indiana in some of the valleys, but we should remain quite overall through the day. Expect mostly sunny skies and highs in the low/mid 70s, with some cooler highs in the 60s expected for northern Indiana.
Another very warm day ahead. Several rain chances move in as the pattern turns active this weekend.
Increasing clouds through the day with mainly dry conditions. We can’t rule out a spotty shower/storm this afternoon, but should be few and far between with pretty dry air in place. Highs top out in the low/mid 80s.
Active weather continues to open the work week, with a few strong storms possible Monday afternoon.
A couple of waves we will be watching during the day. The first will roll in for the morning hours – mostly light to at times moderate rain.
Second wave will have a lot more dynamics behind it, and could potentially churn out a stronger storm later this afternoon. Main concern with any strong storm will be large hail and damaging wind. An isolated tornado can’t be ruled out. Rain and storms should clear the area by late tonight.
Stay Weather Aware!
Showers and thunderstorms are likely through mid-morning. Mostly cloudy afternoon before rain/storm chances increase late in the day/overnight. High temperatures in the low to mid-80s.
Scattered showers, few storms. Mostly cloudy. Low temperatures in the low 60s.
The warming trend will continue into the weekend with 80s by Sunday. A few storms are possible Sunday with increasing chances into the overnight hours and Monday.
Expect numerous showers and storms to develop later this afternoon with an approaching cold front. Unfortunately, damp and unsettled weather lingers into early next week. Temperatures over the next few days will be well below average for this time of year.
Light rain showers and drizzle will linger across portions of central Indiana into the afternoon. Gloomy conditions are expected over the weekend with widespread rain and a few storms. In addition, much cooler air will filter into the region.
