It’s been awhile! But I’m back! Just spent 5 days in Cartagena, Colombia! 🇨🇴 I love visiting this amazing gem of a place! I wasn’t prepared for how much more touristy it has gotten since I last visited haha 😆! Hoping to visit Cali or Medellin the next time I go to Colombia!

Happy ! Let’s kick off this month with some travel related black history! Eugene Jacques Bullard was one of the first Black American Fighter Pilot, although born in Columbus, GA (like me), he actually flew for France 🇫🇷! Bullard was one of the few black combat pilots during World War I, along with William Robinson Clarke, a Jamaican who flew for the Royal Flying Corps.
His remarkable accomplishments will forever live on!

I love food, and I love trying new dishes, restaurants, food trucks when I travel! I believe it can make the experience much better, especially when it’s a native dish of that area! These are some of the dishes I’ve tried over the past couple months while traveling! Where has been your favorite place to eat?
I finally visited California! I had a GREAT time. I went to LA, Santa Monica, and also checked out Venice Beach. I can’t wait to go back. So many things to share and I still have way more to explore. Took this trip with my family and it was much needed ❤️!

Eating Arepas 🫓 is a MUST when you go to Colombia! I visited TWICE while I was in Cartagena! We ordered the Pabellón Arepa and the Potra Arepa! Muy deliciosa!

In a perfect world, people would wait until they can actually get off before they stand up. Haha! It’s frustrating at times when people are just standing up, blocking the aisles or rushing to get off. Patience is truly a virtue, plus you’re not getting anywhere any faster by standing as soon as the flight lands.

⭐ This location is called Las Salinas, or”the Salt Flats,” and it is located in the southwestern-most town in Puerto Rico: Cabo Rojo. Las Salinas are part of the Cabo Rojo Wildlife Refuge and is located within a few short miles of other amazing sites in Cabo Rojo. ⭐⠀

🧂 Las Salinas are hypersalinated lagoons (which means that the salt concentrations of the water are incredibly high). It is in these locations that sea water enters and is then evaporated, in order to produce salt. The native Taíno used these hypersalinated waters in order to produce salt, during pre-Colombian times. 🧂⠀

🍤 This environment is ideal for brine shrimp to become abundant, which in turn, leads to the reddish-pink color of the water. Depending on the day that you visit Las Salinas, the color may be a deeper pink, but that is all contingent upon the sunlight, and the amount of water, salt, and shrimp in the water at the particular time. If it gets breezy, you may even see fluffs of sea foam floating in the air around you, for a truly magical experience. 🍤⠀

🌵 Due to the environment that Las Salinas creates within the Cabo Rojo Wildlife Refuge, you’ll be able to find some of the most unique birds and animals in the world here, along with various types of plants, such as cacti and cotton! 🌵⠀

A highlight of my trip out from of the White House in San Juan. I always seen thaws flags.. They change them yearly... The pink represents cancer awareness month there...🙌🏾❤️🔥✨🙈
If you’re ever in Philly, bed sure to make your way down to South St. to check out ! Also check out a guided tour, s/o to my amazing guide Samantha! Not only is this place truly a gem, there is a lot of history and meaning behind the different artwork throughout the area! One thing that stuck out to me the most during my visit was learning about the history of the neighborhood on Old 7th Ward ❤️. Be sure to venture throughout the area to checkout other local businesses and street art as well!
Friday Feels, here’s a gentle reminder to take some time for yourself! Whether it be a trip, spa day, chill day, or just unplugging from everything, you DESERVE it! Don’t let time pass you by without living life to the fullest that you can!

took us on a tour of Guanabacoa for an amazing journey into Afro Cuban culture and history.

It was looking like Revenge of the Crawfish at lol! I really enjoyed visiting .nola and not only seeing amazing artwork but also learning more about the culture in New Orleans! There’s so much history here and it’s beautiful to see it used to create more Joy, Art, and Music!
Is it too early to do a to last week? I had the most amazing time going to with .nik ! It was truly a one of a kind experience and I can’t wait to recap it on the next episode of Black Travelogues! Stay tuned to learn more about this trip and my experience going! Can’t wait to see what’s next for

Sitting here reminiscing about my first trip to Havana, Cuba! It was definitely eye opening and a great experience with a super dope crew. Cannot wait to visit again and have fresh coconut water
