It’s an expression that has came up for me this week while I’m assessing my current trajectory as I journey through life 🦍.

Last weekend under reflection I explored my relationship with Santa Maria (cannabis). It is a plant I love but as any advocate knows it can be your mistress thou very easily she can become your master. The latter was my tussle.

So I gave it up.
⠀
Discipline has rarely been my problem meaning I can drop things instantaneously with good reason… although it’s definitely not a goodbye… it’s “I’ll see you later sacred medicine friend”!

The decision itself unlocked new doors in my mind and the question then surfaced - what else is no longer in alignment with my journey?
⠀
Back in 2019 a much more recluse and closed down version of me had a burning desire to find my voice and tell my story. The story of a ‘kid.man.monkey.ape.thing’ growing up in The North of Ireland / Northern Ireland surrounded by alcohol, hatred, ancient beliefs and negativity. It’s still not cool to be gay in some places 🤷♂️.

I was once trapped in The Matrix.

I wanted to express myself and show people that following in the footsteps of the past will be the journey for most of those choosing to stay trapped but IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE YOUR PATH!!!

Today is a special day for us on Pachamama. At 8:00pm tonight our first ‘live’ online breathwork journey begins .breathwork . To say we are excited is an understatement.🤗

The journey to here hasn’t been easy.

When the world exploded in March 2020 I knew it was time to ‘do the work’, not pretend to do the work or jump on the spiritual social media hype-train but actually find out the answer to what this is all about 🦍 … I’m still working on that!

The answer to the question is:
- There is no question 😂… the cosmic joke 💫🪐.

At times this has been the loneliest of paths but I’ve always stood up for what I believe in.

When you are 14years old and your granda has just drowned himself in the river that runs by your house, by tying a brick 🧱 around his neck, it turns you into a fighter… and I’d fight anyone for the truth.

I was prepared to give everything up to walk this path.
⠀
EVERYTHING!

The biggest step on this journey has been committing to 9 months breathwork facilitator training with … woohhh. The authenticity and dedication within this container has been electrifying and yet at times brutally confronting. I’m honoured to say I was part of the first cohort. Round 1 KO baby 🥊.

Special mention to my forever ape 🐒 . The journey got WILD at times and I like to push the boat out but I always knew you where concerned about my safety first and foremost… I could see it in your eyes when language didn’t quite match up.

By slowing down, tuning in and actively including focused breathwork as a tool we can move past anxiety, stress and fear. Each of us has access, each of us is worthy, we simply need to take sometime out and turn our focus to this very… next… breath. 🧘♂️
