Over the past 12yrs BackSplash has strived to bring everyone who loves rowing in SA 🇿🇦, the latest results and updates, to helping rowers sell their beloved sports and exercise gear.

Our goal from the very beginning was to bring a ’all-ages’ friendly and informative page for everyone from the avid school rower, to the grandparent supporters (or masters rowers) in a time when we didn’t have anything local.

This has always been a non-profit gig - for the benefit of the sport (and we loved doing it) but adulting sucks and both Simon and myself (Carl) find ourselves in positions that make it really difficult to continue to offer the loyal followers of this page the latest up-to-date happenings in our SA Rowing landscape.

With that being said - We are looking for 3 Representatives (Gauteng, Western Cape, Eastern Cape) to help us continue and grow this page. Ideally each representative should attend the majority of regattas in their region (Student coaches would be best suited as they attend both Junior and Senior events). Someone who enjoys taking pictures and updating the public (non-biased fair representation of all competitors). Unfortunately this is not a job offer - but instead a way for you to give back to the community you care so much for.

Please tag anyone who may be suited - drop us a DM and let’s have a chat. We have so much to offer, so let’s share our wonderful sport for all to see.

SA making wavez in Italy 🇿🇦

South African rowing was in the spotlight at the The Memorial Paolo D’Aloja regatta hosted in Piediulco, Italy, winning six medals, including one gold, by Kirsten Macdonald in the women’s lightweight sculls. She also won silver in the heavyweight sculls.
