Art Stories & Outcasts Released as often as I can muster, each episode will feature one art story. Enjoy! Everything influences everything else. Life influences my art and vice versa.

I would like to think that this podcast is completely separate from my life. Although, I have found that my interest in exploring these artists comes from my life as an educator, an artist, a mother, a wife, a friend, and so on. As I have said many times before, I am not a historian. I primarily use the internet to research the lives of these artists. I may sometimes say something inaccurate. I in no way mean to offend anyone or misrepresent anything or anyone.

The most recent episode is LIVE. You can listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. This is PART 1, the first episode of a two-part series on Lee Krasner.

In part one of this episode, I discuss the formidable Lee Krasner. Whose genius is often overlooked, and life is often overshadowed by her infamous husband.

I have been busy writing episode #14. Lee Krasner is so much more, and I want to do right by her. There is so much I did not know. So much before, during, and after Po***ck. Shame on us for not giving her more attention.

I have been thinking about relaunching the podcast for a while now. It is difficult to manage, but the need to research and tell stories is way too strong.

When I was in graduate school, we were asked to research an artist. The format of the research paper was an interview. I choose to "interview" Lee Krasner. I had to research her in such a way that I knew how she would answer every question. It was eerie the way that our working processes lined up. Although, our personal lives couldn't be more different. She was/is one of the most underrated painters of all time.

I am working to restart/reboot the podcast over the next few weeks. In the meantime, I wanted to leave this here. I often tell my students that space is one of the most difficult terms to define in art. It's intangible. We are not aware of its existence until we run out of it. Richard Serra knew how to define space. I am lucky to have seen many of his works in person. Here, he is featured in the first episode of Art 21, titled "Place."
