Dolly Parton Retires From Touring

In a special edition of touring magazine, Pollstar, Dolly Parton confirms what she has hinted at in other interviews over the past couple of years and that fans have openly speculated about: she has officially retired from doing full-scale tours and doesn't anticipate performing more than a handful of special shows in the coming years.

Responding to a question about her future tour plans, Dolly replied, “I do not think I will ever tour again. But, I do know I'll do special shows here and there, now and then. Maybe a long weekend of shows or just a few shows at a festival. But, I have no intention of going on a full-blown tour anymore. I've done that my whole life, and it takes so much time and energy.”

Dolly explained that given both her and her husband's advancing age, she'd rather stay close to home than being gone for weeks or months at a time on tour.

We are not happy today. Just saw a friend post today is the 2nd day she brought her kids to the bus stop and is the 2nd day that cars sped by the stopped bus sign. COME ON FOLKS, nothing is so important that kids should be hurt

School is now in session. Please be careful driving as our children begin a new school year.
Just like you should pull to the right and stop for emergency vehicles with warning lights on, be sure to stop for those school buses with flashing red lights transporting our precious cargo.
