Decided to try that Wonderskin stuff. I dunno...when I activated it, it ran down my chin like I was a vampire in a horror movie. Which is definitely a fantastic aesthetic, but not the one I was going for.
Now it's just a dingy brown on my lips, when it should have been a deep red.
4/10 for the comic relief.

This may be a weird ask but...does anyone have a copy of Godey’s Lady’s Book from June/July 1884 (issues 108/109)? There’s a patchwork pattern that goes along with a short story in the July issue, but every online/digital archive I’ve found shows the pattern folded up. And I’d kinda like to see the whole darned thing. 🤬

If you have a hard copy of the issue in question and can photograph the pattern in its entirety, please let me know!

Honestly, if these archives are really interested in preserving and/or recreating craft and fashion history, allowing people the ability to see a full pattern to follow would really help! 😉

I may have made my own baby sling for the most demanding snuggler ever.
No, I didn't film it. The fabric is ancient, full of holes, and will only do in a pinch.
But now I can edit with both hands instead of using one arm to keep the snuggler happy!

So...we have kittens. 😁
(A couple of folks are already aware of this, but we kept it fairly quiet until the girls settled in)
They are incredibly cute, incredibly snuggly, and have already figured out that they are very pointy indeed.

Hi folks,
I just wanted to take a moment to let you know that I'm stepping back from most social media for a little while. My father passed away a couple of days ago, and I'm spending some time with my family (biological and otherwise). You may notice me post frivolous or snarky content dependant on mood, but I may not respond to direct messages or content requests at this time.
In the words of Ferris Bueller, "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."
I told my Dad I loved him every time I saw him, just in case it was the last time. I don't regret it.

I've been organizing the bead collection. Mum certainly had a lot! Not sure where I'm going to store them all, but at least they're secured and in vials that allow for easy colour identification!

Back from a trip to Banff! Dinner at Grizzly House (fondue!) last night. Stopped in Canmore for tea on the way home (may also have found some yarn on the way).

I'm making a set of motifs from a vintage book and while they'll probably end up either as coasters or a decorative wall display, I'm really just enjoying the whole experience 😃

Seriously, I always wanted a cute best back in the '80s, but could never find one in my size. It's still an issue, so I hacked this one from an 1890s pattern.
