RXR welcomes Natalia Grossman, world champion professional competition climber, to our elite roster of limit-pushing athletes, artists, and adventurers. This September, the 20 year-old became the first American climber in more than 25 years to win gold in the women’s lead bouldering competition at the 2021 IFSC Climbing World Championships. She also earned a silver medal in the women’s lead competition, becoming the first American woman to win multiple medals at a single world championship competition. What a season!
Originally from Santa Cruz, California, Natalia is among the United States’ most promising competition climbers. She started climbing when she was just six years old and began competing when she was seven, winning multiple national and international competitions. Natalia currently lives in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she trains at the USA Climbing National Training Center. And while she focuses on competition climbing, her strength and skill clearly translate to the outdoors—she sent over 50 double-digit boulder problems in the summer of 2020 alone.

She loves traveling the world while competing, gaining new friendships, and pushing herself mentally and physically. Beyond climbing, Natalia devotes her time to academics. She attends the University of Colorado, Boulder, where she is a psychology major with the goal of becoming a therapist. We are thrilled to have her on our team and are so excited to support her in her pursuits this coming year.

announced that received a wildcard invite for 2022! She says, “When I received the invitation to be the "Wildcard" for The Freeride World Tour 2022, my heart jumped into my throat. I was humbled, and honored and a little nauseous all at the same time. I guess you could call me the Wildcard Rookie because it has been so long since I have been in the starting gate. Since I left the contest world, I have never stopped progressing. I am fully dedicated to the growth of women's big mountain skiing and every season I strive to push my limits in the film world, chasing snow to the far corners of the earth.” Approximately 48 athletes representing 14 countries will begin the season when the tour gets underway in Baqueira Beret, Spain, on January 22. Christopher Blevins, the 23 year old from Durango, Colorado, just became the first American man in almost 30 years to win a Cross Country Mountain Bike World Cup. “I can’t describe it, I really can’t. There were a couple of moments mid-race where I just realized, this is special, trying not to get ahead of myself, but I knew that I was on a special day. Having my parents and my sister here just made me smile a couple of times. It was a beautiful race in a beautiful setting.”
On that special September day in West Virginia, the rocky, punchy track at Snowshoe Mountain Resort wreaked havoc with flats and mistakes across a deep field of talented, favored riders. But Chris seemed to float through his seven laps. He was completely relaxed and focused. His line choices were unique through the rock tech sections and he was patient, riding in the top five for the duration. In the final lap, Chris had positioned himself perfectly. He took the lead with an inside pass of Swiss cross country legend Nino Schurter on a steep uphill corner. The rest is history.
Just a few weeks before, Chris became the first-ever Short Track Cross Country World Champion at the event’s inaugural race in Val di Sole, Italy. His background in BMX, his highschool racing program, and a successful under 23 career led him to his Olympic debut in Tokyo. Chris’s rise is emblematic of the unbelievable growth of mountain biking and cycling in the U.S. over the last few years, and not just at the elite level.
