APCSU 2nd Edition Winter Football Tournament 2023 Final Ceremony Ends Today

Diyun, 30th October 2023: Mr. Drishya Muni Chakma, who claims to be an RSS Karyakarta and BJP member and serves as the President of the Arunachal Pradesh Chakma Student Union, has been actively involved in public campaigning for Mr. Doni Nich as the BJP candidate for the 2024 election for the 49th Bordumsa Diyun General Assembly. It's worth noting that the BJP has not officially declared any candidate for Bordumsa/Diyun yet. As a result, all eyes are on the party's candidate selection process, and the public is also eagerly awaiting this decision.

Additionally, it has come to light that Mr. Drishya Muni Chakma is not the only one from the Chakma community campaigning for Mr. Doni Nich. Some influential Chakma individuals are also actively engaging in grassroots campaigns, rallying villagers in support of Mr. Doni Nich. According to reliable sources, certain leaders do not allow photographs or videos to be taken during their visits.

In today's closing event, Mr. Somlung Mossang, the incumbent MLA of Diyun/Bordumsa Constituency, was present as the Chief Guest. Mr. Doni Nich, for whom Mr. Drishya Muni Chakma is campaigning, attended as the Guest of Honor. It's worth noting that Mr. Somlung Mossang and Mr. Doni Nich are contenders in the upcoming election.

However, questions have arisen from various corners of the Chakma community regarding whether a Student Union President can publicly campaign for a specific candidate and party without resigning from their current student post. This raises concerns about the constitution and bylaws of APCSU and why the executive body of APCSU has remained silent on this matter.

In today's event, the public is eager to hear how Mr. Somlung Mossang will respond to attending an event organized by a group supporting another candidate in the upcoming 2024 election, considering he is also a candidate. What will his reaction be?

Sources have revealed that in Diyun/Bordumsa, especially within the Chakma and Hajong communities, there are two groups for each candidate due to ideological differences, and candidates must maintain a balance between these groups. However, it is said that there are multiple groups within the Chakma community that support different candidates within the BJP, including Mr. Tseng Tsing Mein, Mr. Doni Nich, Jawrai Maio, and other candidates. Even Mr. Somlung Mossang, the Honorable MLA, has two groups - one representing the old guard and the other the new (lower and upper) - which he manages separately, often holding meetings exclusively with their respective group members without intermingling.
