Little Halston Update🤎

A couple weeks ago Halston was given a lead test at her one year checkup! Her levels came back at a 7.1, we were sent in for further testing to confirm and those results came back with a lead level of 6.4! Halston has lead poisoning. We have been testing different things in our home so we can remove her from whatever the source might be.
From here on out we will be doing lead tests every 3 months to check her lead levels until they are undetectable. She will also start seeing a nutritionist as well as continuing her weekly appointments with her Physical Therapist!
Our baby girl is SO strong, she is the definition of resilience and I have full faith that even though the effects of lead poisoning are irreversible she will persevere and will make a full recovery🫶🏼

I have learned so much about lead since her diagnosis, the effects it has on children and the brain damage it can cause, if you live in or near an older building GET YOUR CHILDRENS LEVELS CHECKED! If you are around historical buildings that are being renovated, GET YOUR CHILDRENS LEVELS CHECKED! All it takes is a finger tip of lead dust to elevate your child’s lead levels to a dangerous level.
Follow to educate yourself on lead poisoning and the life long effects it can cause on children exposed.
