Five alive! What a result for England kayak team members in the recent Lake Challenge Kayak held on Rutland water. This superb format run by the SAG group had Kayak's enter the competition for the first time to run along the already established boat competition. It was Team England that secured the top five places with the unstoppable Richard Archer taking the gold medal with 350 points. In Second place was Team Englands Tiberiu Nica with 316 points. Third place went to David Jacobs who is no stranger to the podium with 284 points. 4th was David Goude who is consistently gracing the top 5, and in 5th place was World Championship medal holder Mark Radcliffe.

If that wasn't enough, Team England's Martin Collison took the longest fish accolade with a 100cm Pike, Team England's Tiberiu Nica taking longest Zander with a 74cm beast and Team Englands Mark Radcliffe taking the longest perch with a 48cm Stunner.

The boys shortly head of to Italy to practice for the upcoming World Championships, we wish them luck, and boy what a result. 👏👏👏

This past weekend was Bewl Water Kayak Fishing Competition. A 2 day competition where each day for a full card you need 1 pike, 5 perch and 1 trout (which can’t be upgraded).
I had a plan in mind to go for pike, perch and after that, trout as I thought they will be the easiest to catch.
First day after 45 min I managed to get a pike but not big, only 45cm so I decided to make couple more casts to see if I can get a bigger one. 12 min later I had a 78cm pike on the board and I was over the moon.
Small perch were easy to catch, but getting the ones over 30cm was a struggle.
The trout which I thought it will be the easiest to catch took me almost 2h.
Finished day one in 6th place.
Changed the plan for day 2. Pike first, then the trout and after perch. After 1h I managed to hook a pike but lost it and I was gutted. Half an hour later I hooked one and got it in the net. A beautiful 84cm pike.
Trout proved again to give me headaches but after an hour of trying I have seen a big one on the livescope and as soon as the lure landed in front of him he took it, and it was a big one. 56cm.
Now I had 4h to fill my card with perch which was plenty of time.
I finished the competition in 4th place and got the prize for the biggest trout.
Congrats to Richard Archer for 1st place. Alan Robson for 2nd and Dave Goude for 3rd.
Well done to David Morris for biggest pike and biggest perch of the competition.

This was the first competition of the year, Llangorse Kayak Fishing European Championship organised by South Wales Kayak Anglers (SWKA).
Let’s just say it wasn’t that easy to fish with gusts of 30+ mph, hail and rain.
The card was 3 pike and 2 perch. I managed to get 3 pike but no perch which was enough for the 4th place.
Congratulations to Richard Archer for 1st place, David Jacobs for 2nd and Ian Pickering for 3rd place.

Thanks to South Wales Kayak Anglers (SWKA) for organising a brilliant event and to all the sponsors.

Attention Lake Challenge family!

We have an important announcement for you today! For the first time in Lake Challenge history, we have decided to organize a "Trial" for our kayakers.

We made this decision to build our angling community and promote angling throughout the UK.

This year, we have decided to limit the number of kayaks to 20 during the first part of Lake Challenge 5 on May 25th and 26th. The kayak competition will be separate from the angling competition on boats. It will only last for two days, and the scoring format will be different for them - only one pike, four perch, and three zander.

We believe that our Lake Challenge fishing family will warmly welcome our 20 kayaker guests, and together we'll have a fantastic weekend.
