In 2019, a stateless child was given citizenship after waiting for 5 years of making constant appeals to the government. There are more than 400 000 stateless people in Malaysia, and if we work together, we can correct the wrongdoings of the previous generation by giving the stateless people of Malaysia a place to belong.

There is an estimated amount of 462 350 stateless people in Malaysia. However, according to the Malaysian Federal Constitution as well as several Human Rights laws, nationality should be a human right.

Good day, everyone!

Today, the topic will be on Child Marriage in Malaysia.

Heard of it? Well, the case of the marriage between a 41-year-old man and an 11-year-old girl on the east coast of Kelantan back in 2018 sparked public outcry, which prompted the government at the time, Pakatan Harapan to draft a ban on child marriages in our country.

However, this has met with divided responses among the public. Child marriage is still an ongoing issue in our country, and there are several reasons why child marriage happens.

Hello and good morning everyone!
Today, we will be looking into a topic that many may not have realised the importance it holds to not only the country as a whole, but to ourselves as a Malaysian Citizen– and that is State Laws! You may heard of it, or know something about it, so let's dive in a little deeper on how State Laws works. We will be sharing a series of infographics as well as a mini documentary that aims to help everyone reading have a basic understanding on State Laws.

First, we will be looking briefly into the history of how Malaysia came about, and a little insight into the Malaysian Constitution.

During the 2018 Elections, history was made when Malaysia changed government for the first time in 55 years. This change was mostly attributed to youth voters. For the upcoming GE15, those between the ages of 18 to 25 will be allowed to vote. This means nearly 75% of all Malaysian citizens will be voting. It's better to be prepared, so get ready to fact up! Youth voters matter, so don't forget to register to vote!

Do you know that children living in rural areas of Malaysia are often getting deprived of their education? Based on research, children in rural areas, especially rural areas of Sabah and Sarawak, experienced significantly more education deprivation than children in urban areas. They are more than twice as likely to be out of primary school than their urban peers & have low school completion rates.

Education for Children in Rural Areas of Malaysia

Do you know that children from rural areas are more likely to not be in school compared to urban children? According to Article 12 of the Malaysian Constitution: Rights in respect of education, there shall be no discrimination against any citizen on the grounds only of religion, race, descent or place of birth. This means that all children, including those from rural areas have the right to get their education!

Have you ever held back your voice thinking you can't speak up? Do we have freedom of speech especially on online platforms- comments, posts, captions & pictures?

This segment here is to:
1) Educate Malaysian regarding their rights to freedom of speech and expressions guaranteed under our constitutions which are under Article 10.
2) Understand that freedom of speech and expressions has its limitations or paired with others acts and it should be practiced the right way without abusing it.
