Dear Young Kenyans,
Today, I stand before you to speak about a momentous occasion that is soon upon us—a day when we, the youth of Kenya, will make our voices heard, our presence felt, and our determination known. On Tuesday, the 23rd of July, we will gather to occupy Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) and Uhuru Park, not just as an act of protest, but as a powerful statement of our collective vision for a brighter, more just future.
We are Generation Z—fearless, innovative, and unafraid to challenge the status quo. Our generation has grown up in an era of rapid change, unparalleled technological advancements, and an ever-shrinking global village. We are acutely aware of the issues that plague our society: economic inequality, corruption, unemployment, and the urgent need for environmental sustainability. These are not just abstract concepts; they are realities that we face every day, and it is our duty to address them.
Our occupation of JKIA and Uhuru Park symbolizes more than just a protest; it is a call to action. At JKIA, we highlight the importance of our economy, the necessity for transparent governance, and the urgent need for job creation and economic opportunities for our youth. By occupying Uhuru Park, we emphasize the need for green spaces, environmental protection, and the preservation of our natural heritage for future generations.
As we gather, let us remember the principles that guide us: peace, unity, and respect. Our actions must reflect the change we wish to see. We will stand together, united in our diversity, demonstrating that our strength lies in our ability to come together for a common cause.
This is our time to show the world that the youth of Kenya are not merely passive recipients of decisions made by others, but active participants in shaping our nation's destiny. We are here to demand accountability, transparency, and a seat at the table where decisions about our future are made.
To my fellow Gen Zers, I urge you to join us on this historic day. Bring your passion, your creativity, and your unwavering spirit. Let our voices echo through the halls of power and across the fields of Uhuru Park. Let our presence at JKIA remind everyone that the youth are the lifeblood of our nation’s future.
As we march, let us do so with purpose and with the knowledge that we are part of a larger movement for justice, equality, and progress. We are not just protesting; we are paving the way for a better Kenya.
Together, let us make history. Together, let us show that Generation Z is ready to lead. Together, let us build the Kenya we know is possible.
Thank you, and see you on the 23rd of July.
In solidarity,
Kenyan Patriot.
