"I'm just a normal schoolgirl living in Hong Kong. Recently, there had been a lot of things happening around me and new things every single day. There are a series of anti-governmental protests going around the city. Soon enough, I'd found out that we cannot simply "hold no stance." My classmates just keep asking me "who do you support?" or "what do you think about the recent news?" Seeing protesters and police or other people fighting just because of their difference makes me feel sad and frustrated. Why can't the government just accept their people or try to make a deal with them? Although they don't have a common leader, they have a common thought or idea! And they can always go to meet some protesters or citizens and talk? You can argue that they had tried. I have to admit, yes, they had tried, but it is just the wrong way! Yes the protesters vandalize, but if the government actually listens to them, it won't happen! I am just so frustrated. At this point, I have many questions. Why can't the government just listen to their people? Why are there such people who risk the whole city's fate just to keep your "good image" in front of the central government? Can't you just listen to your people? Do you know how much people cry themselves to sleep every night just because of this? Yes, a lot of police are hurt, a lot of people who "like the government" are hurt. But, think about this, the majority of your people can also decide the fate of your rule. Also, there are plenty of other people that are hurt both physically and mentally. There have been dozens of people that committed su***de, or thought of doing it, or was actually, purposefully or accidentally killed in the events! I really cannot hold this back anymore, I'm just 13 and as an introvert, I don't really like to express myself verbally but I just felt so angry and sad and I am just about to explode because of this. I really need to express myself and my views."
