The financial specialist and professor at the New York University – 𝘼𝙨𝙬𝙖𝙩𝙝 𝘿𝙖𝙢𝙤𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙣 – criticized bitcoin in a recent speech. In his opinion, the primary digital asset “failed miserably” and did not prove itself as a good currency.

𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗧𝗖 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝗲

The prominent Indian professor – 𝘼𝙨𝙬𝙖𝙩𝙝 𝘿𝙖𝙢𝙤𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙣 – shared his point of view on bitcoin in the most recent episode of Moneycontrol Masterclass. He asserted that the largest cryptocurrency has failed to classify as a good currency because people disregard it as a payment method for daily and household purchases:

“A good currency, in my view, is one that [is] used to buy coffee, buy your house, buy a car, and on that count, bitcoin has failed, and not just failed, it’s failed miserably.”

BTCChina, the operator of China’s oldest Bitcoin (BTC) exchange, is no longer in the crypto business, according to some reports.

The company sold its stake in the Singapore-registered Bitcoin exchange ZG.com to an unidentified foundation in Dubai, Chinese news agency The 21st Century Business Herald recently reported.

According to the report, ZG.com is a completely independent crypto exchange business with registrations in the United States, Singapore, Estonia, Seychelles and other countries. BTCChina reportedly invested in ZG.com in January 2019.

According to a report by the South China Morning Post, BTCChina said that it was exiting the Bitcoin business “in response to the Chinese government’s policy,” alluding to the major crackdown on crypto mining activity and related activities in the country.

Worst case price prediction for bitcoin using the stock to flow analysis could see bitcoin hitting $135,000 by December 2021 according to PlanB

Popular crypto analyst PlanB has outlined the potentially bearish situation for bitcoin over the course of 2021. The analysis makes use of the stock to flow (S2F) model to determine the potential price of bitcoin.

In a recent tweet, PlanB states “Bitcoin is below $34K, triggered by Elon Musk’s energy FUD and China’s mining crack down.” The analyst further reiterates his sentiment using the S2F model, saying “There is also a more fundamental reason that we see weakness in June, and possibly July. My worst case scenario for 2021 (price/on-chain based): Aug>47K, Sep>43K, Oct>63K, Nov>98K, Dec>135K”
