[Fictional backstory for 1972 scandal in Bonn's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.]

Film: Meet The Blue Water In The Vast West
Directed by: Chengchao Jiang
Synopsis: Ye Xingran is a college student from Shanghai. He has a beautiful and considerate girlfriend called Nai Feisai. Nai Feisai is from Xinjiang. The two agreed to stay in Shanghai after graduation to work together. However, teacher Xia's unexpected visit put Ye Xingran in a dilemma. Ye Xingran was curious about the sea and clouds. He didn't know whether the clouds in the sky were formed by the sea or whether the sea and clouds could always be together. After learning about teacher Xia's worries, Ye Xingran decided to break the agreement with Nai Feisai and work in a high school in Xinjiang for one year after graduation to help teacher Xia fulfill his unfinished wish. Ye Xingran's decision is discovered by Nai Feisai, who tries to prevent Ye Xingran from working in the West. During the dispute, Ye Xingran told about his experience with teacher Xia. Nai Feisai suddenly realized the truth and decided to work with Ye Xingran in Xinjiang. Accompanied by the bright lights in Shanghai at night, the two embarked on the journey to the West. On the way, they received the sad news of teacher Xia's death, which made them more determined in their choice. Like sea water and clouds, they will never be separated on the vast land of the motherland.

Durante il suo servizio come assistente volontaria di cure palliative per malati terminali, Luce incontra Agata un'anziana signora dal carattere non molto facile. Luce vedrà qualcosa in Agata che pochi altri sono riusciti a vedere e, come a ripercorrere gli ultimi momenti con la madre, darà ad Agata quello di cui ha più bisogno: ""un giorno di luce"" nell'oscurità della malattia.

ENG: Luce is a girl who lives with her father and who tries to face the normality of everyday life despite her existence has been upset by the premature loss of her mother. During his service as a volunteer palliative care assistant for the terminally ill, Luce meets Agata an elderly lady with a not very easy temper. Luce will see something in Agata that few others have been able to see and, as if to retrace the last moments with his mother, will give Agata what she needs most: ""a ray of sunshine"" in the darkness of illness."
