Breaking!

Liberia is among several African Countries poised to benefit a 10-billion US Dollar development assistance from the government and people of South Korea.

It followed the signing of a Joint Declaration by African Heads of States including President Joseph Boakai and their Korean counterpart at the end of the Korea – Africa Summit.

In the Joint Declaration, South Korea committed to continue expanding Official Development Assistance (ODA) up to ten billion US Dollars by 2030 as a catalyst for projects cooperation with Africa.

Through the expansion of EDCF Framework Arrangement and Grants, the South Korean government agreed to increase investments and ramp up grants submission to African Countries.

It said approximately, 14-billion US Dollars in export financing will be provided to Korean companies by 2030 to encourage their activities in Africa, with the aim of stimulating trade and investment with Africa.

Meanwhile, Foreign Ministers from the African nations and their counterpart in South Korea have been tasked to meet in 2026 to comprehensively evaluate the outcomes of the just ended Korea – Africa summit to discuss the way forward including exploring possibility of holding the next summit.
