Wow, just like that we are up to episode 100 😊❤️

Thank you to everyone who has helped me on this journey, from anyone who has tuned in to my shows or listened back on Soundcloud and for the guys at both Club Ready Radio in the beginning and now Rhythm FM for giving me the slot of air time to share my passion through my weekly show.
Whether 1 person or 1000 people listen, i don't care, i love doing what i do, bringing you my take on the best in the world of DnB both past and present.
So for this episode i put something a bit special together.

In light of the devastating weather we have had here in Cairns over the past few days where many people have lost homes and all their belongings, we wanted to do something to help....

So this weekend all proceeds from our monthly gig will be donated to Yaps who do an amazing job of re- homing and boarding cats and dogs and were totally flooded out over the last 2 days.

So get yourself down this Saturday.

Hope you enjoy it as much as everyone at the party did.
I always had a fascination with Brazil as a kid,
I think any football mad kid around my age who watched the 1982 World Cup would have too. That team is quite simply the best team to never win the world cup.They did things with the ball that blew your mind, the passing, backheels, goals... Don't beleive me, jump on youtube and watch highlights. And it was always samba beats playing in the crowd or the songs they used in the video clips.
Zico, Eder, Socrates, Falcao, Junior 🔥. What a team. I think if Careca hadn't have been injured prior to that world cup and he had been upfront instead of Serginho they would have won it!
Anyway....Then in 2000 i was lucky enough to be working on a cruise ship that went there so went to Recife, Fortaleza,Amazon River and Rio (amazing city to visit)

And so to DnB....so so much stuff comes out of Brazil, more than most people probably realise...

Originally hailing from Mansfield, UK, NEPTUN3, also known as Al, has been residing in Cairns, Australia since 2009. Al's roots trace back to the vibrant rave scene of the early 90s, which served as the catalyst for the evolution of dance music. He had the privilege of witnessing legendary artists such as Micky Finn, Stu Allan, Kenny Ken, Slipmatt, Ratty, LTJ Bukem, and Carl Cox at renowned venues like Vibelite (Venue 44) in Mansfield and The Pleasuredome at Skegness.

After a prolonged hiatus from the scene following his departure from the UK to explore the world in '99, Al settled in Australia and decided it was time to pursue a long-held passion.

During the COVID lockdowns, Al acquired his own decks and dedicated himself tirelessly to honing his skills. He firmly believes in prioritising quality over quantity, ensuring impeccable track selection that encompasses both past and present musical gems. With a strong emphasis on seamless transitions and allowing each track to breathe in the mix, Al's sets are a delightful blend of liquid, jungle, rollers, deep, and techy steppers.

For those who appreciate this flavor of drum and bass, Al's weekly podcast on Soundcloud is a must-listen. Be prepared to embark on a musical journey that showcases his artistry and unwavering passion every Friday.

Over the past year, Al has been collaborating with fellow expat DJs, operating under the banner of Cairns DRUM & BASS HQ. Together, they have been actively working to establish a thriving drum and bass scene in Cairns, organising events at prominent local clubs such as Attic, XS, Woolshed, and The Jack. Additionally, Al hosts solo liquid drum and bass events throughout the city.

Exciting times lie ahead for Al as he gears up to perform at Subtropics and Zero DB festivals in QLD in 2023. With his growing presence and unwavering dedication, there is no doubt that we will be hearing much more from him in the future.
