“The influence of The UW Dawgcast on my time at the University of Washington is immeasurable. I have learned so much from one of the experienced meteorologists in the city – Shannon O’Donnell – and have gained practice using the same tools as professionals broadcast meteorologists. Because of my experience with The UW Dawgcast, I am comfortable creating and communicating forecasts for our campus and local community and have no question the skills will directly apply to my future career.”

- Anthony Edwards, President of The UW Dawgcast (senior)

“The UW Dawgcast has been an amazing resource to help me gain skills that will help me in a career in atmospheric science. By creating forecast discussions, graphics, and broadcasts for our blog and social media, I have been able to greatly improve my previously lacking scientific communication skills and apply the concepts I have been learning in my other atmos classes. The Dawgcast has also provided a space for me to connect with other undergrads that are passionate about weather and learn what a career in operational meteorology looks like.”

-Jared McGlothlin (Junior)

Husky Giving Day is April 6. If you enjoy the work of The UW Dawgcast and the atmospheric sciences, please consider donating to the university’s one-day giving campaign. Your support is appreciated!
