The Out Matched Gamer Blog:
“The game of life”
Welcome to the brand new Out Matched Gamer blog! Home of yours truly the Out Matched Gamer!!! Now, I know what you are thinking. Who the hell is The Out Matched Gamer? Well to be honest…. I’m not 100% sure yet. Ya see, the truth is that part of doing this blog is to help get an idea of the type of content I’ll be providing once I transition to YouTube. That’s right, ya boy is getting ready to start a channel among the 20,000,000 other content providers on YouTube! The thing is, even as I sit here and type this blog, I cannot help but wonder exactly what show I am trying to create?
I have a few YouTube channels that I watch religiously. These guys and gals are unquestionably some of the biggest influences on my decision to get involved in content creation. The problem is that these guys and gals are also part of the reason I am so conflicted on doing a YouTube show. Amazingly talented individuals like The Angry Video Game Nerd or The Nostalgia Critic have taken entertainment on YouTube to incredible levels, millions of people tune in (antiquated expression I know) to their content and with each upload these talented individuals appear to reach a wider and wider audience. The reality is though, for every Critic or Nerd there are a million other super talented individuals who are lost in the sauce. Why would I expect to be successful when so many others with much more talent than I could possibly posses are unable to conquer this platform? To be honest with you…. I honestly don’t know. I have no clue if I can be successful. I have no clue if I can even get one follower (I guess I could always ask my wife if need be…) but I know that I owe it to myself to at the very least try.
You see, the name Out Matched Gamer is about much more than just being subpar or inadequate at video games. This name represents a feeling that many of us have experienced. A feeling that I certainly have had many times in my life and continue to have even as I prepare to join the world of content providers. A feeling of being completely overwhelmed and intimidated by the task before you. That is the feeling of being an Out Matched Gamer! It’s a feeling of being completely out of your element and ill prepared for the journey you are on…...God, did that just get depressing and dark! Well good news! Being “Out Matched” or being intimidated does not have to be a bad thing!! Being out matched gives you the opportunity to work harder and prepare yourself for the task in front of you! That is the reason I have decided to use this name. I will fight harder, I will work harder, and damnit I will game harder than the next guy to see this through!
In the end, I cannot tell you that I’m going to be talked about the way my idols on YouTube are or that I am going to be remembered as the next sensation of the interwebs. What I can promise you though is that I have spent my entire life wanting to entertain, wanting to bring smiles, and wanting to share my (at times) odd brand of humor with the world! I hope you will join me on this journey. I hope you will tell your friends, and they will join too. We have all felt out matched or ill prepared at one point in our lives, it’s time to show the world that being Out Matched can be a good thing! Thanks for reading this guy. Feel free to comment.
