How long have you been singing for?
~Literally my entire life. My Mum tells me I have been singing since before I could talk. I love it! Even in different languages, or just being silly in different voices as well! I was in Choirs, Musical Theatre & Band all throughout school.

Where did you get the name PaperKrayne from?
~My Being PaperKrayne has an interesting backstory, but the short of it is- it stems from The Neon Bird from Darren Hayes (singer of Savage Garden) His album "This Delicate Thing We've Made" ~ And specifically the track "Who Would Have Thought" . ALSO hugely has to do with the fact I love Japanese culture. The Origami Crane stands for Unconditional love, peace, and healing during challenging times.

What is your favourite UK Hardcore song of all time?
~That's a tough one, UK Hardcore has been such a huge part of my life for so long, it makes it hard to choose! But I would have to say probably "Fires In The Sky - Dougal & Gammer"

What’s your favourite UK Hardcore song at present?
~Another hard one! I would have to say my most played tunes right now are "Euphoric Theory - To You" and "Runaway - Nobody"

Do you like other genres? If so, what?
~I do! I'm a huge fan of music and I have quite an eclectic taste! I love Psytrance, Drum & Bass, Euphoric Hardstyle, Trance, Hardhouse, Speed Garage, Breaks, Minimal Techno, House, Metal, Nerdcore, Pop-Punk, Rap, Indie... Anything with vocals I can sing to... The list goes on!

What other releases do you have coming up?
~I actually have quite a few in the works, look out for an upcoming album with PaperKrayne and EzKill! Also my most recent tune "OHBOY! - MattJ & PaperKrayne" is available now!

What does it mean for you to be on Executive Records?
~I am so excited! They always have such lovely artists on their releases, and I feel honoured to get to be among them! Thank you again for the opportunity!

We recently interview Fireblade to coincide with his new release on Executive Records.

1. Where did you get the DJ/producer name Fireblade?
I always loved the Honda CBR1000RR “Fireblade” motorbike. I did eventually get one but it seemed like a cool idea for an artist name as well

2. How long have you been DJing for and what is your most favourite gig and why?
I started DJing in the early 2000’s and took a long break in between till more recently. My favourite gig was an outdoor festival gig in North Sydney around the same time with a couple thousand punters enjoying the sun and tunes. More recently I have a soft spot for any HWFG sets I play as I’m loving seeing my event grow and branch out.

3. What DAW do you use?
FLStudio

4. What is your favourite production to date and why?
Let It Go is my favourite production to date, it will be released in May but it’s got powerful leads and takes you on a bit of a journey from start to end. Not to be confused with my other track Let Me Go although I am proud of that one too, that one is already released on Justice Hardcore.

5. How do you approach writing a song? I.e., Do you start with a vocal/melody? Or do you like to get the Kick/Bass and percussion right? Do you start from the breakdown and build around?
To be honest every song is different. Sometimes I’ll come across a vocal and I will build around that and sometimes I will come up with a melody and build around that but I have a similar strong structure generally and then chop and change to suit. At the end of the day it comes down to what I’m feeling at the time and often the song changes direction from how I originally pictured it would. For example I completely rewrote HWFG after I came up with another idea I thought would work better, being a perfectionist is a bummer sometimes!

6. How long have you been putting on your events for and what has been your favourite to date?
HWFG is just over a year old now and my favourite thus far was HWFG Uprising. Back in the day I had put on events like Playground and Euphoria with MC Riddle and DJ Tokai, those were more kind of underground style events.

7. What does it mean to be on Executive Records?
Well as an Aussie hardcore styles lover it means alot because I’ve released on labels from USA, UK and Germany but not in Australia. There’s also been some amazing producers release tracks on Executive Records so I’m thrilled to add my name to that list of legends

8. What other genres do you like besides UK Hardcore?
Hard style, hardcore, frenchcore and trance. I still love jamming out on my guitar sometimes too, that’ll always be a thing!

9. Who is your biggest inspiration and why? (Producer)
This is a tough one! All time it has to be Scott Brown, the guy has produced more bangers than anyone else I can think of and is a big reason why I’m doing this in the first place, he’s a total legend.

10. What releases do you have coming up?
Justice Hardcore just released Let Me Go on 28 March with another 3 tracks over the coming couple of months and of course Stuck in my head and Sushi Hardcore MF on Executive Records!
