Try your hand at experimenting with hops, ingredients, and different brews that sell for the most in the Brewpub Simulator free playtest on Steam.

The free playtest for the immersive simulator will last two weeks, where players can learn different crafting recipes, brew their very own mystery beers using random ingredients, and even try to sell their creations to customers for profit to further enhance their pub. You have officially inherited your grandfather’s run-down brewery, and it is up to you to restore it to working order and brew your heart out. The brewery comes fully equipped with its own bar area that you can upgrade and decorate however you see fit to draw in those thirsty customers.

Your grandfather’s legacy must live on, as he was once a very successful brewery with the best watering hole in town. But alas, the big companies always win with their fancy marketing and speedy quick brewing machines. This has made the little guys suffer, but with you at the wheel, you can build this little brewery into a booming business once more.

Those who join in on the playtest will be able to play the game and give feedback directly to the developers through a survey. This helps them not only make a better game for the full release but also helps pinpoint any bugs they might have missed. Even though the game is currently in a playtest state, it still looks as though it has a massive amount of content to enjoy while you play through. Plus, there really isn’t anything to lose, as it is completely free to join the playtest on Steam, and you get to help a developer improve their game which is pretty nifty.

More so, if indie games are your cup of tea, you can join in on the GASP event, which means Games At Special Prices. This is an event for indie developers to band together to offer discounts, prologues, playtests and content to players to gain their interest in their games! All in all this is a great way to support the indie developer community, and most of the content is free to playtest or enjoy.

If you would like to join the free playtest, head on over to the Brewpub Simulator Steam page, and select the “Join Playtest” option below the wishlist option.

Andrew Wilkie, an Australian MP, has finally introduced his Australia loot box legislation. I say finally because we reported that Wilkie would propose his Australia loot box legislation back in July 2021, so he’s been working on this for a while.

The law, which has the rather long-winded legal name of “Classification (Publications, Films and Computer Games) Amendment (Loot Boxes) Bill 2022”, seeks “to classify any game with loot boxes as R18+ or RC,” which would definitely put a cramp in any publisher trying to sell loot boxes in the land down under. This makes sense, because you must be at least 18 to legally gamble over there.

Wilkie had this to say while introducing his Australia loot box legislation:

It’s widely acknowledged that the risk-versus-reward nature of loot boxes essentially sets young people up for future gambling addiction. The way in which the mechanism entices young people to keep coming back with desirable items is akin to the relationship between a gambler and a poker machine. It’s obvious that young people who are spending a lot of money on these games are being groomed for future gambling.

He’s just a guy who really hates loot boxes.

I don’t disagree with Wilkie’s interpretation, especially when you have massive publishers like EA funneling players toward loot boxes. It’s extremely predatory and has resulted in some action against it in countries like Belgium, although they apparently aren’t enforcing their laws as they should be doing.

Still, it’s nice to see Wilkie doing his best to fight loot boxes. He’s only one man, so while he’s doing his best to protect minors against loot boxes, he’s coming up against an industry that will be doing its utmost to keep it going. At this point, why not? The industry is having successes like Tencent’s Honor of Kings, which is the world’s first 10-billion-dollar mobile game and which contains loot boxes. When a feature helps companies make that much money, it’s going to be almost impossible to stuff the genie back into the bottle.

For more information on Wilkie’s crusade against loot boxes and the loot box world in general, stay tuned to TechRaptor.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has seen its fair share of exploits and glitches already, but this one takes the cake. This newfound glitch apparently allows players to duplicate legendary Pokemon infinitely.

Not only have players found ways to duplicate items using the picnic system in-game, which is where players see a sparkle-filled area on the ground where they can place down a picnic table. The item that is hiding below ground will then be duplicated infinitely using this picnic table overtop of it when usually an item can only be discovered and picked up once from those sparkly areas. Now, players have found a way to cheat the system and duplicate legendary Pokemon in a way that should not be possible.

How To Duplicate Legendary Pokemon

The glitch is not as cut and dry as one might think, and the only way to even access this glitch is to have completed the Area Zero questline and be able to transform the two new ride Pokemon, Miraidon or Koraidon, into their battle forms. From there, players will need to trick the system into allowing them to deposit their legendary Pokemon into the Storage Container, which is something that is not possible (or rather, shouldn’t be possible) in-game. Once this has been done, if you somehow trick the system into allowing it, you will notice that the legendary Pokemon is still in your party and in the Storage Container, creating a duplicate that can then be transferred back into your party.

Now, again, this is a rare occurrence and takes extreme speed in order to execute the glitch properly, plus it comes with a huge downside. If players do so choose to exploit and use this glitch, their save data might be affected later on down the line when GameFreak patches this glitch.

In this Valheim Plains Biome Guide, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about this deadly Biome and how to defeat its monsters.

Where is the Valheim Plains Biome?

The Valheim Plains Biome is located about halfway between the center of the Map and the edge. That means that you won’t find it on the starting island or any of the nearby islands; you’ll need to get a Boat and travel quite a distance before you find this Biome.

While the Mountains are tough enough in their own right, the Plains Biome represents a severe difficulty spike. Deathsquitos will instantly kill under-equipped players, and roving bands of Fulings are nothing to sneeze at, either. Do not enter the Plains lightly, lest you find yourself unable to get your equipment back.

Aside from an array of deadly creatures, the Plains Biome is home to large Birch forests. That makes this Biome a good location for securing large amounts of Fine Wood for your Building and Crafting projects.

Valheim Plains Biome Guide – List of Enemies

Here are the enemies you can expect to find in the Plains Biome.

Deathsquito

The Deathsquito is essentially a gigantic mosquito. It hits pretty hard and has been the death of many an underequipped player over the years.

Deathsquitos may seem impossible to deal with, but they’re pretty easy to kill once you know what you’re doing. Deathsquitos will fly in a circle around you until they charge straight at you to attack. You can either parry the attack and follow up with a melee hit or snipe them with a Bow from afar. Wait for the right moment and you can emerge victorious.

Fuling

Fulings are simple-minded creatures that carry either a Sword, a Spear, or a Torch. Don’t let their small stature deceive you — Fulings hit hard and can kill you quickly, even if you have top-tier gear.

Treat Fulings like any other melee enemy and parry their attacks. Deal with large groups one at a time, and don’t be afraid to run. Overconfident players can be quickly overwhelmed, especially if they’re near a Fuling Camp.

Fuling Berserker

Fuling Berserkers are gigantic creatures with massive clubs, typically only found near Locations like the Fuling Camp. Your only saving grace is that their attacks are slow. Skilled players with good gear can parry their main attack, but Berserkers also have a triple club swing that hits a little harder — it’s better to dodge this attack rather than attempt to parry it.

Fuling Shaman

A Fuling Shaman is a spellcaster that makes the situation about a hundred times worse by casting a protective buff over his fellow Fulings. That’s not to say they’re defenseless, mind; the Shaman can also cast a nasty fireball attack.

Shamans should always be your #1 target when you’re attacking a Fuling Camp. Preferably, you’ll want to kill them before they cast any spells. If you can’t, your fight against all of the other Fulings will be much harder.

Growth

The Growth might simply look like a black slime, but it’s much tougher than its brethren in the Swamps. The Growth wields a nasty ranged attack that does a fair amount of damage and also slows you down severely.

Fortunately, Growths and Fulings are not friendly to one another. A useful strategy for dealing with either is luring a Growth near a Fuling Camp and letting the two groups of enemies fight it out, allowing you to finish off the survivors with greater ease.

Lox

Lox are gigantic, furry creatures that are highly territorial. They won’t bother you if you keep your distance, but they’ll happily stomp you or your Buildings to pieces if you get too close to them. The meat from these creatures can be used for some pretty great Cooking recipes, and that’s not the end of their usefulness — they can also be tamed and ridden as mounts. Check out our Animals Guide for more details on how to raise Lox.

Who is the Boss in the Plains Biome?

Yagluth is the boss of the Plains Biome. You’ll have to collect 5 Fuling Totems from Goblin Camps and other Locations to summon him.

Valheim Plains Biome Locations

Here are the notable locations in Valheim’s Plains Biome.

Fuling Camp

A Fuling Camp can have over a dozen Fulings along with a couple of Fuling Berserkers or Fuling Shamen. Do not approach this location lightly. It’s best to attempt to pick off Fulings from afar with a Bow rather than charge in.

While this location can be deadly, visiting it is an unfortunate necessity — it can be home to a Fuling Totem, the item you need to summon the fifth boss Yagluth. (Bear in mind, there is no guarantee that a Fuling Totem will spawn at every Fuling Camp!) You can also occasionally find bits of useful treasure such as Coins and Black Metal Scrap.

Ruins

Ruins are long-forgotten structures that usually have one or two Fulings hanging about. The only notable feature is a treasure chest at the top of the stairs.

Stone Tower

These are much like the Stone Towers you’ll see elsewhere in the world, although these have clearly been reinforced with Fuling constructions.

Stone Towers may have treasure inside or a Fuling Totem. Once you clear them out, though, they can make a fine location for a temporary base.

Stonehenge

Stonehenges may have a treasure chest somewhere near the circle of pillars. These valuables are usually protected by Fulings (and occasionally Fuling Berserkers).

Critically, you can sometimes find the Yagluth Vegvisir in or around a Stonehenge. Make sure to check out this place if you’re trying to track down the Plains’ Boss.

Tar Pit

A Tar Pit is where you can find Tar. (Big surprise there!) This location is also a spawn point for Growths, deadly Tar-based slimes that have a powerful ranged attack.

Yagluth Altar

The Yagluth Altar is where you summon Yagluth. It can most easily be recognized by the distinctive hand-shaped rock formation surrounding it.

An official D&D Lego Ideas contest is in the home stretch. Both Wizards of the Coast and Lego Ideas held this contest to celebrate 50 years of Dungeons & Dragons, as well as showcase the creativity that can happen with Lego. Now after 600 submissions, which include some technically impressive entries, there are five entries left. On top of that, there is now a fan poll where you can choose which of these five you like.

The D&D Lego Ideas contest finalists

First, it must be stated that the fan poll will not determine the winner of the D&D Lego Ideas contest. That final ruling is with the judges. But it will let them know which entry is beloved by the community and could potentially sway their decisions. On top of that, the winner doesn’t just get bragging rights, they will also get their submission turned into an official Lego Ideas set.

Anyone that’s ever opened a Monster Manual knows what this feels like.

The first of the entries is called The Monster Manual. It has a lot in terms of variety. It is an open book with a bunch of iconic D&D monsters coming out of it. This includes staples like mimics and gelatinous cubes as well as named monsters like vampire Strahd Von Zarovich atop his Nightmare steed, and the two-headed demon prince Demogorgon. The second entry aims for a more specific character of D&D lore: Xanathar The Beholder. Not only does it portray the head of Waterdeep’s most notorious Thieves’ Guild, but it also includes a desk, a bookshelf, and even his pet goldfish.

Make a death saving throw.

The third finalist of the D&D Lego Ideas contest continues this deep cut expression with Transforming Mimic. It’s a simple treasure chest with a sign explaining the rules of treasure. But flip the sign and move the hinges and you’ll get razor sharp teeth and a statblock for a mimic. The fourth entry actually moves more towards showcasing one of D&D’s biggest past times: rolling dice. Tiamat’s Dice Tower depicts the five-headed mother of chromatic dragons sieging a castle tower. There’s even an open trough at the bottom of the tower to catch the dice.

A piece that also tells a story.

The fifth and final entry for the D&D Lego Ideas contest is also the most complex. Dragon’s Keep: Journey’s End is a 360-degree diorama depicting the journey of a D&D adventuring party. It starts with them outside a tavern before wrapping around to the siege of a castle, followed by ascending a tower to fight a dragon.

If any of these entries caught your attention and you want to see a certain entry win, you can submit your vote here.

Want to find the Valheim Swamp Biome? Our guide tells you how to find it, the dangers you’ll face within, how to use the Swamp Key, and more!

Where is the Valheim Swamp Biome?

The Valheim Swamp Biome is located about halfway between the center of the Map and the edge of the Map. Finding a Swamp isn’t too hard, but you probably won’t be able to walk there. I searched the entire island I started on and didn’t find one, so that means your best option is to travel by boat. (It’s possible that you might get lucky with your seed, but there are no guarantees.)

It’s really that easy — hop into a boat and sail around until you see dead trees. However, you can end up sailing for quite a while — I spent a good 30 minutes or so on the water before I finally encountered my first Swamp Biome. You may be luckier than I was, but you also might have to search even longer.

Valheim Swamp Biome Guide | List of Enemies

Here are the enemies you can expect to encounter in the Valheim Swamp Biome.

Abomination

Your first encounter with an Abomination will likely be a surprise. That’s because it’s disguised as branches and it’s very easy to miss. You’ll often not know an Abomination is nearby until you see it emerge from the ground.

Much like Trolls in the Black Forest, Abominations are large and in charge. Its melee attacks can easily destroy wooden structures and rapidly deplete your health. Fortunately, it seems to have a vulnerability to fire — it’s best to tackle this enemy from afar with some Fire Arrows.

Blob

The Blob doesn’t do much in the way of damage compared to some of the other enemies in the Swamp Biome. The real danger, however, is that it inflicts Poison damage on you, and that can kill you. Stay far away and you won’t get hit by its poison gas cloud.

Draugr

Draugr are like a meatier version of Skeletons. There are both melee and ranged versions of this enemy. Draugr will slowly approach you until they get close, and then they’ll charge in for the last bit of distance.

While Draugar are on the surface, they’re the greatest danger when you’re in the close quarters of a Sunken Crypt. Explore each new room carefully so you don’t get trapped and killed.

Draugr Elite

As the name implies, the Draugr Elite is a stronger version of the Draugr. The Trophy that drops from this enemy is used to Craft the Iron Sledge.

Leech

Leeches stalk the waters of the Swamp. They can poison you much like the Blob, but they’re worth killing — the Bloodbags they drop are used in some powerful Potions and Meads.

Oozer

Oozers are souped-up versions of Blobs, and killing them doesn’t end the threat — a dead Oozer will simply split into two Blobs.

Skeleton

As with the Black Forest, Skeletons populate various places in the Swamp Biome. Fortunately, you don’t have to deal with them in the Sunken Crypts.

Surtling

Surtlings are fire elementals with a powerful ranged attack. Their greatest strength, however, is also their biggest vulnerability — they will rapidly lose health when exposed to water. Luring them into the waters of the Swamp can put a quick end to the fight. Surtlings are a renewable source of Coal and Surtling Cores, so they’re always worth killing.

Wraith

Wraith are floating specters that only come out at night. While they can be an annoyance, they’re also a good source of Chain.

Who is the Boss in the Swamp Biome?

Bonemass is the boss of the Swamp Biome in Valheim.

Valheim Swamp Biome Locations

Here are the notable locations that can be found in the Valheim Swamp Biome.

Bonemass Altar

As you might expect from the name, the Bonemass Altar is where you can summon Bonemass, the Boss of the Swamp Biome.

Draugr Runestone

The Draugr Runestone is a special Runestone that always has Draugr around it.

Fire Hole

The Fire Hole is a spawn point for Surtlings. Lower the ground around it with a Pickaxe until it’s submerged underwater and the Surtlings will die almost instantly, giving you a renewable source of Surtling Cores and Coal.

Graves

Graves can feature spawners for both Skeletons and Draugr. Destroy the spawners or you risk being overwhelmed by enemies.

Guck Tree

The Guck Tree is a source of Guck, a Crafting Material used in some items, Potions, and Mead. You’ll likely need to Build a Ladder or similar structures to reach the higher Guck deposits. Take care not to fall!

Sunken Crypt

Sunken Crypts are the dungeons in the Valheim Swamp Biome. They feature Blobs, Draugr, Draugr Elite, treasure, and — most importantly — a lot of Scrap Metal that can be smelted into Iron Ore.

Swamp Hut

Swamp Huts are dilapidated wooden structures that sometimes have a treasure chest. They can serve as good temporary outposts if needed, but don’t expect these wooden structures to stand up to much punishment.

Swamp Ruins

Swamp Ruins are stone towers that often have Skeleton or Draugr spawners inside and occasionally feature treasure chests. These are ideal locations for building a temporary base.

Swamp Well

Swamp Wells sometimes have treasure at the bottom, but they can be empty, too. Wells that spawned in lower ground could be flooded with water and impossible to fully explore.

Our guide tells you how to summon the Valheim The Elder boss, how to prepare for the battle, and how to defeat the game’s second boss!

Where to Find The Elder Boss in Valheim

You can find The Elder Boss in the Black Forest Biome in Valheim, the second Biome of the game.

How to Unlock The Elder Boss in Valheim

Here’s how to unlock The Elder Boss in Valheim:

Travel to the Black Forest

Kill Greydwarf Shamen and Brutes or destroy Greydwarf Camps to collect 3 Ancient Seeds

While hunting Greydwarfs, search for The Elder Vegvisir in Burial Chambers and Stone Towers.

Take the 3 Ancient Seeds to The Elder Altar and summon him.

How to Prepare for the Valheim’s The Elder Boss Fight

The Elder Boss can be challenging for new players, but he also exists to serve a valuable lesson: some bosses are weak to certain attacks. In The Elder’s case, his weakness is fire.

Fighting The Elder in melee is doable, but at this stage of the game, it’s much easier to shoot him from a distance with a Bow. That is doubly true because of his weakness to Fire — craft a bunch of Fire Arrows and you’ll be able to kill him much faster. Crafting a total of 200 Fire Arrows per player should be more than enough to win the fight (and fend off any other enemies in the area, too).

You’ll also want to prepare the area a bit. Dig some pits or trenches that you can dive into to avoid his ranged attacks. Just make sure you can get back out, too — the Roots he can summon can beat you up pretty badly if you can’t get away from them!

What is The Elder Boss’ Weakness?

The Elder Boss is extremely weak to Fire in Valheim. Use Fire Arrows to rapidly reduce his health.

How to Summon The Elder Boss in Valheim

You can summon The Elder Boss in Valheim by collecting three Ancient Seeds and using them at his Altar.

Trees can be quickly felled by The Elder’s powerful ranged attacks — be careful!

How to Beat the Valheim Elder Boss Solo

Defeating the Valheim Elder Boss isn’t as easy as the first boss Eikthyr. You can definitely fight in melee range, but you’re probably going to take some hits. That’s why I opted to fight at long ranges using a Bow. As a bonus, The Elder moves pretty slowly; it’s very easy to pelt him with arrows from a safe distance.

The Elder largely uses three attacks. He’ll stomp if you’re in melee range and it’s pretty easy to dodge this. If you’re at medium range, he’ll summon some Roots that surround and attack you; use your axe to quickly chop these down and run out of the area. At long range, he’ll shoot a bunch of vines at you in a wide cone.

The projectile vines attack is the biggest danger here and why preparing cover in advance is a good idea. It does a fair amount of damage to you (even with armor), but it also can destroy Trees (which can fall down and land on you for even more damage).

Stay at range and keep shooting arrows at The Elder until he’s dead. Other enemies in the world can join the fight, too, so be careful not to aggro any of them. Once he’s defeated, you’ll be ready to move on to the next biome.

How to Beat the Valheim The Elder Boss in Multiplayer

Fighting The Elder in multiplayer doesn’t require any special strategy — simply pelt him with arrows from afar until he’s dead.

What Are The Elder Boss Drops in Valheim?

The Elder drops The Elder Trophy and the Swamp Key in Valheim. The Swamp Key grants you access to Sunken Crypts in the Swamp.

What is The Elder’s Power in Valheim?

The Elder’s Power increases damage to Trees in Valheim, making it easy to collect large amounts of Wood.

Our Valheim Bonemass Boss Fight guide tells you where to find the game’s third boss, how to prepare for the fight, and how to beat him!

Where to Find the Bonemass Boss in Valheim

Bonemass can be found in the Swamp Biome in Valheim. Finding your first Swamp can be a little tricky and the biome itself is wrought with peril — especially if you go in under-geared. It’s strongly recommended that you go in with an ample supply of food and fully-upgraded Bronze tools and weapons at the minimum.

As with most bosses, you can try to find a Runestone that will put one of the Bonemass locations on your map. His spawner is a gigantic skull, though, and it’s not too difficult to spot it when you’re running through a Swamp; you may very well find Bonemass’ spawner before you find a stone that tells you where he is!

If you’re still having trouble, you can typically find Bonemass Runestones within some of the stone towers in the Swamp. Spend some time running around in the Swamps and you’ll come across one eventually.

How to Unlock the Bonemass Boss in Valheim

Here’s how to unlock the Bonemass Boss in Valheim:

Defeat The Elder Boss

Travel to the Swamp Biome. Make sure to take a Swamp Key with you.

Use the Swamp Key to explore Sunken Crypts and collect 10 Withered Bones. You’ll likely have to explore multiple Crypts to get enough.

While exploring Sunken Crypts, search for the Bonemass Vegvisir to find his location.

Take the 10 Withered Bones to the Bonemass Altar to summon him.

How to Prepare for the Valheim Bonemass Boss Fight

Fighting Eikthyr and the Elder are a cakewalk in comparison to this fight against Bonemass. Summoning him without proper preparation will likely result in your death, and don’t forget — bosses don’t despawn in Valheim. Fail to kill him and he’ll be hanging around forever until you actually defeat him.

Bonemass’ main weaknesses are Blunt damage and Frost. It’s easy enough to bring a Mace to the battle, but I strongly recommend preparing some Frost Arrows in advance.

Unfortunately, Frost Arrows can only be acquired by killing Drakes in the Mountains Biome. That means you’ll have to do a bit of sequence breaking and travel into the fourth Biome in order to have an easier job of defeating the boss of the third Biome.

Making the trip to the Mountains is worth it, though. The extra damage afforded by Frost Arrows can make taking down Bonemass much easier than you’d expect — and fighting him from range is much safer, too.

What is the Bonemass Boss’ Weakness?

The Bonemass Boss is weak to Frost and Blunt damage.

How to Summon the Bonemass Boss in Valheim

You can summon the Bonemass Boss in Valheim by placing 10 Withered Bones on his Altar.

How to Beat the Valheim Bonemass Boss Solo

The Bonemass Boss fight starts off like most other Boss fights in Valheim — you’ll see a bunch of energy balls start to come together as some awesome metal music kicks off. This will let you know where the boss is going to spawn into the world. You’re going to want to be as far away from Bonemass as possible at the beginning.

Bonemass has three attacks:

Melee swipe – Bonemass will swing his arm in a wide arc at you. This is telegraphed very heavily and you do not want to be hit by this attack. If you can’t avoid it, block or parry it. Either way, immediately get out of range if you take a hit.

Summon monsters – Bonemass will grab a piece of gunk off of his body and throw it in your general direction. Once this blob lands, it can spawn Skeletons, Blobs, or nothing at all. Kill these adds immediately before continuing to do damage to Bonemass.

Poison Cloud – Bonemass will vomit on the ground and create a cloud of poisonous gas around him that’s about twice as wide as his body. This cloud sticks around for a while, so you don’t want to be in the area at all.

In my research for this fight, I saw a lot of people advising that you get a blunt weapon and go in for Melee damage. I do not recommend doing this in single-player — it’s nigh-suicidal. Instead, your focus should be on shooting Bonemass from range with Frost Arrows.

Keep Bonemass at a distance, firing Frost Arrows as you go. Immediately take on any Skeletons or Blobs that he spawns so that you can keep your focus on Bonemass. Eventually, you’ll whittle his health down to zero and you’re done!

Should you die, you’ll be really happy that you build a base nearby to respawn. The only real way to fail is to run out of Frost Arrows. That’s the best way to do damage — if you run out, it’s probably a good idea to retreat, craft more items that you need, and start the fight over. Bonemass won’t despawn until he’s dead.

How to Beat the Valheim Bonemass Boss in Multiplayer

Not much changes for a Bonemass multiplayer fight with the exception of his health and damage increasing due to Valheim’s difficulty scaling system. Although his health is higher, you may actually be able to defeat him quicker, believe it or not.

Bonemass can only focus on one player at a time. That gives every other player the opportunity to hit him from behind with a melee blunt weapon. A fully-upgraded Iron mace or warhammer will do more damage than Frost Arrows, but you risk taking a lot of damage.

You can certainly try to dip in and hit him with melee when he’s focused on another player. That said, it’s safer (and only a little slower) to pelt him from range with Frost Arrows.

What Are the Bonemass Boss Drops in Valheim?

Winning the Valheim Bonemass boss fight will give you the Bonemass Trophy and the Wishbone. The Wishbone is an item that can detect items hidden underground and is essential for finding Silver in the Mountains Biome.

What is the Bonemass Power?

The Bonemass Power gives you a crazy amount of physical resistance once it’s activated. If you’re going into a situation where you think you’ll be hit a lot, it’s not a bad choice to take this power with you!

We’re all done with the Valheim Bonemass Boss Fight Guide, but there’s plenty more to explore in our other guides below!
