Sadly, my time at the Ionna Apex Rechargery was cut short. Used the fix-a-flat to get me to the nearest tire shop which thankfully was one minute down the road but having to replace a tire to get me through 3 more weeks of ownership is a bummer.

On the bright side though, got to meet a bunch of you in person for the first time which was lovely! Thank you to everyone that came out for a fun time of EV nerding out. Wish me luck on the return to Boston tomorrow!

Final preparations for tomorrows trip to Richmond and onto the Ionna Rechargery in Apex, NC Thursday morning. Round trip just about 1600 miles (2600kms.)

Cars fully charged and am going to hopefully hit the road by 9am at the latest. I’ll be following the built in navigation system for the first time ever utilizing only Electrify America. Just going to pretend I’m an EV newbie. I just routed and I’m not totally hating what it’s telling me to do.

Also going to be using my Comma 3X for most of the drive. Going to do more of a vlog style road trip on this one since it’s my last road trip in the Ioniq 5. Wish me luck!

This one has been a long time in the making. I've been selling the walk away door lock device for Kia EV9 for several months now and since then the only installation option has been wire taps which can be tricky and isn't the most ideal installation method.

After roughly 75 iterations of the connector, I am happy to announce that I've perfected the fit and am now ready to begin selling the trailer connector version for EV9!

December 19th I will be doing one final road trip with my Ioniq 5 down to the brand new Ionna Rechargery in Apex, NC to help out with stress testing the new charging station with Kyle Conner from Out of Spec! Based on some social media posts, it sounds like Tesla Superchargers are now open to Hyundai EVs when you utilize an adapter at their stations. Up until now it was limited to only stations with built in Magic Docks. I was not expecting this so I'm not able to go test myself today but I ordered the quickest delivered adapter on Amazon and will go try it myself tomorrow.

There seems to be conflicting reports so take this with a grain of salt. Anyone wanna go test as report back?

In the Tesla app when you add your car you need to make sure to tell it that you have a NACS DC adapter. Remember, unless you are driving a 2025 Ioniq 5 N, you will only see a maximum of around 99kW.

If you’re planning on traveling Northbound on the Merritt Parkway today, the Applegreen Electric stations in North Haven CT gave us hell last night. Only 1 of the 4 had a working card scanner. Download and setup the Applegreen Electric app and connect a credit card before you head out and you should be able to get it going with that. I’ll be talking about it in a future video but this was a pretty bad charging experience.
