Will there be another I Love Shelties Annual? That's entirely up to you, our wonderful sheltie community!

I've been asked a few times recently when we'll be opening submissions for the next I Love Shelties Annual. I would dearly love to open submissions, but truthfully, I can't right now 😢.

The Annual (and I Love Shelties brand) has been a passion project of mine for the last few years. It's taken up a lot of my time, skills and money to fund it and make everything behind the scenes and I've done it all on my own. The last annual took me about six solid weeks to put together!

In the last 18 months, I've been very ill on a personal level. I've been diagnosed with endometriosis which is heavily affecting my daily life. Simply put, I can't do I Love Shelties alone anymore.

So this is hopefully where our lovely sheltie community comes in. With extra help, we could make the next I Love Shelties Annual come together!

At the moment any help would be entirely on a volunteer basis but hopefully, that would be able to grow into paid roles.

If anyone can support the next annual in any way, whether that is through things like:
🐾 graphic/book design
🐾 article and story writing
🐾 editing and proofreading
🐾 organisation/keeping track of submissions
🐾 social media to promote the open submissions
🐾 any other ways you think you could help!

Any/all help would be appreciated! In return, you'll learn new skills, help get the annual in the world and I can provide references/testimonials for you. (Hopefully, we could all get paid at some point too!)

With a small team, we could probably open submissions in December/January and get the next Annual released in Spring 2025 🥳. But if it continues to rely solely on me then much as it pains me, I genuinely can't promise another annual next year given my current health.

🐾 Social Media Volunteer Wanted! 🐾

Hello, Sheltie lovers! Camilla here. You may know I've had some health issues over the past 18 months which has meant I haven't kept this page up to date or worked on the next edition of the annual. With this in mind, I've decided to see if we can start building a small group of volunteers to help develop this community so we can keep making sheltie things and raise money for charity at the same time!

I'm seeking a passionate Sheltie enthusiast to join me in managing and developing our social media presence. This is the perfect opportunity for someone looking to build their social media management/content creation portfolio!

It is an unpaid volunteer role to start but we hope to turn it into a paid role at a later date. And if you're based in Norfolk, UK (or able to travel), we can meet up for merchandise/brand photoshoots, too!

The ideal person will:
• Have some experience with social media management and content creation
• Love Shelties (obviously!)
• Be creative and organised
• Have a few hours per week/month to spare
• Understand our brand's positive, community-focused voice
• Have some photo and video editing skills

What you'll be doing:
📱 Creating and scheduling posts
📸 Curating and sharing community photos and videos
💬 Engaging with our wonderful followers
✨ Helping grow our online presence
🎨 Contributing creative ideas

This is currently an unpaid volunteer position, but you'll get:
• Valuable social media management and content creation experience
• A reference/testimonial to use for your portfolio/job applications
• Guidance, art direction and support in developing your creative skills
• Input into brand decisions
• A chance to help shape our growing community
• The joy of connecting with Sheltie lovers worldwide!

Shelties can't donate blood as they are too small but sometimes they do need blood in emergencies, so fundraising for Pet Blood Bank is our way of showing support for such a good, important cause 🐾💗

Our sheltie shop is now open! We've got a core selection of products for you including mugs, tote bags, t-shirts and hoodies but we'll be expanding with new designs and new products as soon as we can!

In the meantime, don't forget to check out the special Howl-oween shop that will only be available until November (when we'll launch the Barkmas shop!)

Please note we're using print on demand suppliers - this means that products are only made when they are ordered so it will take a few days to manufacture before your items are shipped out. Shipping rates are set by the supplier but they have multiple printing sites across the globe so they will make your item at the closest available site and ship out to you to save on shipping.

I got asked to make a piece of custom artwork this last week - it's SO adorable and I really want to show you but it's going to be a birthday present 🤭

Picture this: a country lane with a couple walking down it along with their shelties in a watercolour style 😍.

It got me thinking, would you be interested in customisable prints/canvases? You could pick the scene, how many people/children and how many shelties and their colours. Could even add names or a message to it underneath!

I think it would make a lovely gift (hinting to my husband because my birthday is next month! 😉)

Please note: We cannot use small, resized images or low-quality phone snapshots. The photos must be suitable for large-format printing. Remember that if you're not the photographer, we will need the original photographer's permission to use the photo otherwise we cannot include it.

For years, I've poured my heart, soul, time (and money!) into I Love Shelties. From weeks at a time working on the I Love Shelties Annual to calendars and short stories raising money for charity, it's been a labour of love. But reading all your supportive comments and seeing your photos enjoying the Annual has made it worth it, especially in the last year after being so ill.

Now I'm feeling healthier, I'm dreaming bigger! 🤩 I want to create more, do more, and bring our amazing Sheltie community even closer together. That's why I'm launching our I Love Shelties Patreon!

I've been thinking over the weekend and had a crazy little idea! Would you come along if we were to organise a sheltie gathering next year to celebrate International Sheltie Day in Norfolk, UK? 🤔 (On or around 1st June, probably in East Norfolk)

What and where depends on numbers and there's nothing confirmed right now as it's only an idea but if there are a few of us, I can make something happen!!

The attached photos are from a couple of years ago when we went for a sheltie walk with a few of our friends 💕

If you would come, can you let me know in the comments how many humans and how many shelties you would bring along? Then I can start looking at possible venues...!
