Arestado ang isang lalaki sa Tiaong, Quezon nitong Biyernes, June 21, dahil sa panggagahasa ng anak.

Ayon sa record ng mga Tiaong Police, kabilang ang suspek sa mga most wanted sa Calabarzon. Dagdag nito, nangyari ang paulit-ulit na panggagahasa noong 2021. Hindi raw agad nakapagsumbong ang biktima dahil sa takot.

Nanay, patay matapos hatawin ng pala sa ulo sa Sariaya

Pinatay ng anak ang kanyang sariling ina sa Brgy. Sampaloc 1, Sariaya, Quezon noong June 14, 2024 bandang 11:30 ng gabi.

Ayon sa Sariaya PNP, natutulog ang biktima na kinilalang si alyas Mercy, 49 sa kanyang kwarto ng hampasin siya ng kanyang anak na si alyas JR sa ulo sa pamamagitan ng pala.

Isinugod naman ang biktima sa ospital ngunit idineklarang dead on arrival ng doktor.

Samantalang ang suspek naman ay naaresto ng mga tanod at naiturn-over na sa himpilan ng pulisya.

Base sa imbestigasyon ay may problema sa pag-iisip ang suspek.

Kasalukuyang nakakulong naman ang suspek sa custodial facility ng Sariaya Police at nahaharap sa kasong parricide.

Pinangunahan nina Senate Majority Floor Leader Senator Francis Tolentino at Governor Doktora Helen Tan ang seremonya ng pagtataas ng watawat ng Pilipinas at pag-aalay ng bulaklak sa bantayog ng pambansang bayani Dr. Jose Rizal sa Perez Park, Lungsod ng Lucena, Lalawigan ng Quezon kaugnay ng pagdiriwang ng ika-126 taong anibersaryo ng Araw ng Kalayaan ng Pilipinas.

Naging paunahing pandangal at tagapagsalita din si Senator Tolentino sa isinagawang Quezon Province Peace Summit 2024 kaalinsabay ng unang taong anibersaryo ng pagkakadeklara bilang Stable Internal Peace and Security (SIPS) o pagiging Insurgency-Free Province ng Lalawigan ng Quezon ngayong araw, Hunyo 12, sa Quezon Convention Center, Lungsod ng Lucena.

Sa kanyang pananalita, binati nito ang Lalawigan ng Quezon sa pagiging kauna-unahang nagdeklara bilang insurgency-free sa bansa.

Ayon kay Tolentino, ang pamahalaan ay naglaan ng pondo para suportahan ang Barangay Development Programs ng National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) na nagkakahalaga ng P2.160B para sa 864 cleared barangays sa bansa kung saan ang bawat barangay ay tatanggap o tumanggap na ng 2.5M para sa mga programa at proyektong magpapanatili ng kapayapaan sa barangay.
Pagpapatunay aniya ito na ang pamahalaan sa kasalukuyan ay matibay ang paninindigan na ang dapat na tamang basehan ng kaunlaran ay kapayapaan.

Ibinalita din ng senador ang pagdalo ng Pilipinas sa kauna-unahang pagkakataon sa isang Global Peace Summit na isasagawa sa Switzerland na patunay na ang Pangulo ng bansa, ang administrasyon ngayon ay nakatutok sa kapayapaan.

Samantala, tungkol naman sa isyu ng West Philippine Sea (WPS) ay nagpahayag ng pagkabahala si Senador Tolentino sa nalalapit na Hunyo 15 na petsang ibinigay ng China o Chinese Coast Guard na pag-aresto sa mga mangingisdang Pinoy na magtatangkang pumasok sa Bajo de Masinloc.

Bilang bahagi naman ng patuloy na pangangalaga sa karagatang sakop ng Pilipinas ay ang pagtatayo ng mga Naval Base sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng bansa kabilang dito ang bayan ng Polillo.

Sa huli ay binati ng opisyal ang lalawigan ng Quezon sa patuloy na pagtahak sa landas ng kapayapaan at pagkakaisa para sa pag-unlad at pagbabago ng lalawigan na nakamtan sa pamamagitan ng pagtutulungan at pagkakaisa ng lahat ng opisyal ng pamahalaang panlalawigan at mga bayan sa pamumuno ni Governor Tan.

Ayon sa ulat, walang kaukulang lisensya ang tindahan ng gamot mula sa Food and Drug Administration.

Naaresto ang suspek na si alyas LENDON sa pamamagitan ng isang search warrant kung saan nakita sa loob ng inuupahan niyang bahay ang 564 na kahon ng iba’t ibang gamot.

Aabot sa mahigit Php 500,000 pesos ang halaga ng mga ito.

Nahaharap ang suspek sa kasong paglabag sa RA 5711 (Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009) at Section 25 ng RA 5921 (An Act of Regulating the Pratice of Pharmacy and Setting Standard of Pharmaceutical Education).

AboitizPower Thermal Business Group (AP Thermal) committed a total of ₱69 million for its corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects across its partner local government units (LGUs) and communities nationwide. Nagkaroon na ng katuparan ang kahilingan ni 1st District Congressman Mark Enverga sa Land Transportation Office (LTO) na magkaroon ng matagalang serbisyo ang naturang ahensya sa bayan ng Infanta para sa mga naninirahan sa REINA POGI (Real, Infanta, General Nakar at Polillo Group of Islands).

Tatagal ang pagbibigay ng serbisyo ng LTO E-Patrol sa bayan ng Infanta na matatagpuan sa LTO Site sa Barangay Pilaway ng isang buwan o higit pa kung saan prayoridad muna ang mga Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (TODA) ng mga bayang sakop ng REINA POGI.

Ito ayon kay Infanta Vice Mayor LA Ruanto ay upang magtuloy-tuloy ang pasada ng mga TODA kaya naman bibigyan sila ng isang linggo at pagkatapos ay ang mga pribadong sasakyan naman.

Ayon pa kay Ruanto, ang pagkakaroon ng serbisyo ng LTO ay sa pamamagitan ng resolusyon ni Konsehal Manny America na humihiling kay Cong. Enverga na maging tulay upang maihatid ang serbisyo ng ahensya sa buong REINA POGI at hindi na kinakailangan pang pumunta sa Lucena o Laguna ng mga nangangailangan ng serbisyo ng LTO.

Sa atas ni Cong. Enverga, pinuntahan ni Ruanto ang LTO Compound sa Barangay Pilaway upang mag-aassist sa mga kakailanganin sa E-Patrol and Mobile Registration.

Kabilang naman sa mga serbisyong handog ng LTO E-Patrol ay Renewal of Student Permit, Renewal of Driver's License, Renewal of Motor, Vehicle Registration, Medical Clinic, Driving School, Emission Testing at Insurance.

Ikinagulat ng mga mamamayan ng bayan ng Infanta at grupong Stop Kaliwa Dam ang planong memorandum of agreement sa pagitan ng lokal na pamahalaan ng Infanta at Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) para sa Kaliwa Dam Project.

Kahapon, Hunyo 3, sumugod sa munisipyo ang grupo upang kalampagin si Mayor Grace America kasama ang ilang konsehal na miyembro ng Technical Working Group (TWG) dahil sa pag-welcome ng MWSS na makipagkasundo o sang-ayunan ang kagustuhan nito na matuloy ang proyekto ng Kaliwa Dam.

Ang ipinagtataka ng grupo na sa kabila ng matinding pagtutol ng LGU Infanta sa Kaliwa Dam Project noon ay tila lumambot na ang paninindigan nito at handa umanong makipagkasundo sa MWSS.

Pagkatapos ng isinagawang pulong sa plaza ng grupo ay agad na lumapit ang grupo sa pangunguna ni Lead Convenor Conrad Vargas sa Sangguniang Bayan kung saan binigyan sila ng pagkakataon na makapagpahayag ng kanilang saloobin at hinaing.
Dito ay natalakay ang matagal na pa lang pagkakaroon ng technical working group na inilihim umano ni Mayor America at ng mga kaalyadong mga konsehal na miyembro ng TWG.

Sa naturang sesyon ng Sangguniang Bayan, kinuwestiyon nina Presiding Officer – Vice Mayor LA Ruanto, Konsehal Kirk Gurango, Konsehal Sherwin Avellano at Konsehal Manny America kung bakit nililihim ang nabuong technical working group para sa usapin ng Kaliwa Dam.

Sa kabila ng naging paliwanag ni Mayor America sa kanilang morning devotion na hindi umano niya ibebenta ang infanta, hindi kumbinsido ang grupong Stop Kaliwa Dam dahil baka mayroon ng namumuong usapan para payagan na makakuha ng clearance para magtuloy-tuloy ang konstruksyon nito sa kabundukang bahagi ng Sierra Madre.

Matatandaan na isiniwalat ni Fr. Nilvon sa kanyang sermon ang kopya ng Notice of Meeting kasama ang mga miyembro ng TWG ng Kaliwa Dam Project kung saan isasagawa umano ang pagrebisa sa draft ng MOA at kasunod nito ay ihaharap sana ito kasama ang MWSS para sa pinal na kasunduan.

Binigyan diin din ni Fr. Nilvon na kung totoong tutol sa Kaliwa Dam ang opisyal ay hindi na ito umabot sa puntong MOA na ang pag-uusapan.

Samantala, ayon umano sa source ng Ronda Balita Probinsya ay hindi na umano matutuloy ang pagbisita o panliligaw ng MWSS para magkaroon ng MOA sa pagitan ng LGU at MWSS.

Dahil sa paninindigan ng People's Council at sigaw ng mga Infantahin na tutol sa Kaliwa Dam ay naunsyami ang hangarin ng nasa likod ng naturang MOA.

Ngunit hindi pa rin malinaw umano sa naturang grupo at mga mamamayan ng Infanta kung ano ang nilalaman ng naturang MOA o ano ang napag-usapan ng TWG kaugnay sa Kaliwa Dam na inilihim at hindi isinapubliko.

Winning the night was Miss Bulacan Chelsea Anne Manalo who was crowned Miss Universe 2024, followed by 1st runner-up Miss Cainta Stacey Daniella Gabriel, 2nd runner-up Miss Quezon Province Maria Ahtisa Manalo, who was also crowned Miss Philippines Cosmo International 2024, 3rd runner-up and Miss Philippines Supranational 2025 Justine Tarah Marie Valencia from Baguio, and 4th runner-up Christi Lynn McGarry from Taguig.

In an exclusive interview, Miss Universe 2024 Chelsea Manalo shared her excitement after winning the title.

“Right now, I feel really ecstatic; it's still surreal to me that I have actually won Miss Universe Philippines 2024. But I know that there are so many great things that will come my way. And because of this, I'm ready to take the opportunity to work well with the organization and, of course, to better work with the purpose that is really close to my heart.”

Manalo also shared the importance of the Miss Universe Philippines platform in pursuit of her advocacy for youth empowerment and education.

“It's really important to be Miss Universe Philippines 2024 because this will open so many opportunities for me to work with the purpose that is close to my heart, which is youth empowerment through education of the indigenous people. And I know I can better help them reach a little bit closer to their dreams.”
She also shared her fond memory with BingoPlus, “This was when we went to shoot in Batangas. It was a little bit of a time to get away as a candidate, but you know, to be with my sisters and to shoot with the brand.”
Manalo also described her BingoPlus journey with 3-bingo letters.

“B, beautiful. You know that experience is really, really beautiful. I don't think there's anything else I would ever trade at this moment right now. I, I know I have come a long way through so many things that have happened in my life, and because of that, I can really see how independent I have become to be where I am right now. Meanwhile, Miss Universe Philippines 1st runner-up Stacey Gabriel gave advice to the aspiring queens. “Know that you have everything that you need within you to conquer the universe. I believe in you, so I hope you believe in you too.”

Miss Universe 2nd runner-up Maria Ahtisa Manalo added that knowing your purpose is your core to surviving the competition.
“I think you know the purpose of why you are joining a beauty pageant. It is very important for you to know your purpose and the reason why you are doing it. It is very important to know your core so that you'd be able to stick by that and survive the pageant world.”

In an exclusive interview, Martinez expressed her gratitude after knowing she had won the award. “I am so grateful because, technically, I won the first title tonight, and I'm so proud to be Miss BingoPlus Universe 2024. And I'm so grateful to all who supported me all throughout this year.”
