Meanwhile Airports in the North are open and running. The other day, Bandits as they call them, attacked Abuja train and blew up its rail tracks, Buhari didn't suspend its operations siting insecurity but they instead fixed it within 3 days and it's back up and running right now like nothing happened. Campaign poster of Emeka Ihedioha, former Governor of Imo State who was sacked by the Supreme Court, has emerged online.

The campaign poster poster circulating on social media has Emeka Ihedioha as running mate to his former boss and Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, as president.

The sudden appearance of the campaign posters bearing the picture of the former Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, is generating controversy among members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The posters which appeared in two different designs with both Tambuwal and Ihedioha, dressed in corporate and traditional attires, claim that only the alliance could rescue Nigeria from the brink of collapse.

This is coming on the heels of the emergence of Emeka Ihedioha’s long time political foe, Senator Samuel Anyanwu (Sam Daddy), as the Southern consensus candidate for the post of National Secretary of the PDP in the upcoming National Congress.

Senator Sam Daddy’s has become a source of debate among political pundits who are predicting that it could mean the end of Ihedioha’s political career.

Senator Anyanwu and Ihedioha has been in a political battle of sorts, with the former taking the latter up to the Supreme Court to contest the results of the PDP governorship primaries between the two in 2019.

Ihedioha who has unsuccessfully contested two times to be Governor of Imo State might be giving up hopes of going back to polls for the office of the Governor.

This would add to the seeming internal crisis rocking the PDP in recent time.

Former Governor Ihedioha’s SSG Appointed As IPOB/ESN New Legal Adviser (Photos)

Uche Onyeagocha, a former Secretary to the State Government in the defunct Emeka Ihedioha government in Imo State, has been appointed as the new legal counsel to the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) as well as it’s military wing, Eastern Security Network (ESN).

The group, in a release signed by its Spokesperson, Emma Powerful , said Onyeagocha’s appointment was based on his long-standing commitment and outstanding performance in the Biafra struggle before he proceeded to take up the appointment as the Secretary to the Government of Imo State under Emeka Ihedioha from May 2019 to January 2020.

The release reads: In view of your long-standing commitment and outstanding performance in all strata of the Society, particularly as the former National Legal Adviser of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger-Delta (MEND) before you proceeded on your sabbatical leave to serve Imo State, the leadership of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) has approved your appointment as its National Legal Adviser.

“While we congratulate you, it is hoped that you will continue to bring to bear, your wealth of experience in this struggle to liberate our people”.

Onyeagocha, a former member of the Federal House of Representatives for Owerri Municipal/Owerri North/Owerri West Constituency and SSG to Former Governor Emeka Ihedioha, studied at the University of Calabar as well as Rivers State University of Science and Technology where he graduated with degrees in History and Law respectively.

Onyeagocha who is a former APC and APGA chieftain has also held the position of Special Adviser on Policy and Strategic Matters to the Imo State Government.

EFCC Arrests Former Governor Ihedioha's Deputy (Photos)

A chieftain of the PDP and former Deputy Governor to the Imo State Government, Chief Gerard Alphonsus Irona, was yesterday arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

According to documents obtained by Nigerian News Daily, the former Deputy and ally to erstwhile Governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha, has been on the Commission's watch list.

Chief Gerard Irona was intercepted at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja at about 10:00AM hours on Thursday and moved to the headquarters of the EFCC at Jabi, Abuja for interrogation.

Chief Irona, a former member of the Federal House of Representatives for Oguta/Ohaji Egbema/Oru West Federal Constituency, is under investigation by the EFCC for offences bordering on misappropriation of public funds and money laundering.

The former Deputy Governor is alleged to have being involved in the collection of over N400million monthly from the account of the Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ISOPADEC) during the defunct administration.

He is also under allegations over the mismanagement of N5billion counterpart funding for the Rural Access Mobility Project (RAMP).

A source also confirmed that the former Deputy Governor refused to return his international passport, which was deposited with the body after he used it to travel to Dubai for medical attention last year.

Spokesman of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed the arrest of the former Deputy Governor.

WE KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THE KILLING OF OIL WORKERS IN IMO STATE - IPOB

The attention of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ably led by our great leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has been drawn to the fabricated falsehood being peddled by our enemies that IPOB killed oil workers in Etekuru community and Asa in Ohaji council of Imo State. This is complete falsehood to tarnish our global reputation. We have no hands in such barbarity. We are not bandits or terrorists that spill blood; IPOB is a non-violent and peaceful movement whose agenda is the restoration of Biafra. Killing or maiming of innocent lives is not part of our mandate.

This won't be the first time enemies of the struggle will be linking us with such atrocity in their desperate but futile attempt to blackmail us but we are innocent of it all. We therefore, urge members of the public to disregard this unfounded propaganda which is the antics of our enemies.

A further proof that this allegation does not hold water is the fact that even before the purported killings, IPOB had in a well circulated publications at two different times, announced the cancellation of sit-at-home order on Mondays. So, on what basis will IPOB still go and enforce the same order it had suspended?

We suspended the sit at home order and anybody enforcing sit at home on the day we suspended must have been sponsored by Nigeria government and her security agencies to blackmail IPOB. We have no business with oil companies and its workers in Ohaji or any other place. The oil companies should investigate this attack thoroughly and know who was involved in this act.

IPOB is well structured movement with orderliness and Command-and Control. We are not lawless bandits. Nobody should associate us with barbaric acts typical of blood sucking terrorists and Fulani herdsmen who our men have been risking their lives to stop from taking over our ancestral land.

The world should know that jihadists have been engaged by the wicked security agencies to perpetrate heinous crimes in Biafra land especially Imo State to demonise Estern Security Network, ESN, and justify the ongoing hunt for the operatives. We have been raising this alarm a long time ago but many people didn't believe us. Now it's happening before us all.

Jihadists and vampires are now on the prowl in Biafra land with the back up of Nigeria security agents to depopulate our people and distabilise Biafra land. Unfortunately, some of the stooges masquerading as political leaders in Biafra land are colluding with the enemies to execute this evil agenda. BREAKING: IPOB Suspends Monday Sit-At-Home Protests

Relief may have come the way of political and socio-cultural leaders across the Eastern region of the country as the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB on Friday announced the suspension of the weekly sit-at-home protest which it earlier tagged "Ghost Mondays."

The announcement of the suspension of the protest which earlier aimed to fasten the release of the IPOB global leader, Nnamdi Kanu from detention, was announced by the head of the organization's Directorate Of States, DOS, Chika Edoziem in a live broadcast monitored by EWN on Friday night.

According to the IPOB leader, the sit-at-home protest will henceforth fall on days of court trail of Kanu who is incarcerated in Abuja, Nigeria's capital.

IPOB is the arrowhead of several other movements calling for the restoration of the defunct Biafran state. IPOB is calling for referendum for the people of the Eastern region to decide the exit of the Biafran nation away from Nigeria.

IPOB perfected their bail conditions over the weekend , so for over 500 Igbo Biafrans have being released from the northern prisons and detention camps.

Above all the freed detainees have all arrived home safely from the North .

Court Refuses To Grant Okorocha Order To Stop EFCC, Imo State From Further State Property Recovery (Photos)


Justice Ahmed Ramat Mohammed of the Federal high court in Abuja on Wednesday refused to grant order of interim injunction sought by former Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFFCC and Imo State government to stop them from further interfering and confiscating his properties located in various parts of the country.

The Judge held that granting the order during various challenges to the court jurisdiction in the matter will not been in the interest of justice.

Okorocha on Wednesday in Abuja had asked high court to issue a restraining order against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFFCC and Imo State government from further interfering and confiscating his properties located in various parts of the country.

Okorocha currently representing Imo West
Senatorial district in the Senate sought the order of the Court to preserve his properties pending the resolution of court cases on-going in the matter.

He complained bitterly that his properties have been marked in several states for confiscation adding that unless the preservative order was issued against EFCC and Imo State, he would be prejudiced.

His motion on notice for the sought court order was filed by his counsel and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chief Oba Maduabuchi.

However, the request was vehemently opposed by EFCC and Imo State government on the ground that the court has no jurisdiction to hear Okorocha's suit.

EFCC and Imo state government are contending that the suit was not the type that can be heard during court vacation.

They further argued that Okorocha did not meet the condition precedent for the matter to be heard during vacation adding that the Fiat of the Chief Judge of the federal high court ought to be sought and obtained before such matter can be heard during vacation.

EFCC and Imo state cited Order 46 Rule 5 of the Federal high court civil procedures Rule 2019 allegedly breached by Okorocha while filing the fresh motion.

FLASH: South-East Governors, Igbo Elders Must Pay Nnamdi Kanu Visit In DSS Cell To Find Solution To Escalating Tension -- Elliot Ukoh

Prominent Igbo youth leader, Reverend Elliot Uko has faulted federal government's handling of the secession calls championed by the Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB.

EWN reports that the founder and leader of the Igbo Youths Movement was instrumental to the meeting between South-Eastern governors and the now detained leader of the IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu back in 2017 in Enugu, Eastern Nigeria.

In an interview with BBC Igbo Service on Tuesday, Elliot said the Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government was to be blamed for the rising tension in the Eastern region, after noting that there had been a conspiratorial rejection of dialogue by the South-Eastern governors and the federal government headed by President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to Elliot, Nnamdi Kanu had severally reassured him of IPOB's readiness to table the group's demands before the federal government if it was invited for a dialogue. However, Elliot wondered why there was yet to be a dialogue with the IPOB leaders. He disclosed that his efforts to get the South-Eastern governors to arrange a meeting between the IPOB leaders and the federal government have been rejected over times.

Warning against a possible break down of law in the case of further delay, the Igbo youth leader said that in order to guarantee peace across Eastern Nigeria, the South-Eastern governors and Igbo elders must visit Kanu at the DSS cell in Abuja. According to him, the visit will provide opportunities for a cordial discussion between the IPOB leader and the governors.

"The South-East governors must go with Igbo elders to visit Nnamdi Kanu at the DSS detention facility where they can engage him in a discussion to find solutions. They must engage him in order to get the demands of his group," Elliot said during the interview.

Elliot's position is coming 24 hours after the IPOB sit-at-home order grounded commercial, social and economic activities across the Eastern Nigeria on Monday, August 9th. The group is demanding an unconditional and immediate release of its incarcerated leader, Kanu. IPOB is the frontline Biafran movement, spearheading the campaigns for the resuscitation of the defunct Biafran state, after decades of political marginalization of the Eastern region.
