To the Wild Rift Community:

Tomorrow, Wild Rift heads to its first Regional Open Beta.

When we started the crazy journey of League of Legends: Wild Rift’s development, we knew it would be tricky. Living up to the lofty expectations of existing League players across the world, while balancing the ever-evolving needs of new ones, requires boldness, nuance and, importantly, deep focus on the player experience.

What we didn’t anticipate were the unrelenting challenges of 2020. I’m sure you’ve heard it resonate across gaming: it has truly been a tough time for the team. That said, seeing your passion and support has energized us to keep giving our all throughout development.

In the face of restricted travel and work-from-home realities, we’ve formed stronger bonds with Riot’s regional teams and rely on them to deliver your feedback and highlights to the dev team and protect local player needs, too.

Tomorrow kicks off our first Regional Open Beta, where all players from Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea and Thailand have full access to the game on iOS and Android, with more regions coming later this year and into 2021.

This is one of the biggest milestones we’ve hit so far, and we’re excited to continue developing Wild Rift with all of you throughout the Open Beta.

As a happy coincidence, tomorrow marks 11 years to the day since League of Legends was released on PC. So happy 11th anniversary, League community—we hope we can make you proud.

See you on the Rift!

To prep for REGIONAL OPEN BETA (!!!), we are suspending Wild Rift on TestFlight on 10/22 and Android on 10/23. This means iOS players will not be able to play or download the game after that time, and Android players will not be able to download it. That is... until we open it up to ALL OPEN BETA REGIONS on 10/27!

P.S. Android players will still be able to play normally until the start of Open Beta.
P.P.S. Your hard-earned progress will NOT be reset when we come back online!

ALPHA PATCH NOTES - JUNE 17

Hey, look at us. Who’d have thought? Not me! It’s Wild Rift’s very first patch notes!

We don’t have a fancy website like League of Legends PC just yet, so we’ll be posting the changes below, which are available now in the Regional Alpha.

⬆️ GRAGAS
Gragas is running out of mana pretty quickly, and his full ability combo felt a little on the weak side, so we’re buffing his mana regen, (1) Barrel Roll and (2) Drunken Rage to get him back in the happy hour spirit.

Mana Regen :: 12 >>> 15
Mana Regen per level :: 0.7 per level >>> 0.9 per level
(1) Barrel Roll AP ratio :: 0.7 >>> 0.8
(1) Barrel Roll cooldown :: 11/10/9/8s >>> 9.5/8.5/7.5/6.5s
(2) Drunken Rage AP ratio :: 0.5 >>> 0.65

-----

⬆️ EZREAL
Ezreal’s underperforming because his “Blue Build” isn’t giving him much damage, and he’s getting outclassed by basic-attacking marksmen. We’re updating his recommended items and runes, and buffing (1) Mystic Shot, his main damage output ability.

Default recom. items: Muramana / TriForce / Ionian Boots + Quicksilver / BotRK / Infinity Edge / Mortal Reminder
Recom. runes: Conqueror / Gathering Storm / Regeneration / Manaflow Band
(1) Mystic Shot damage :: 15/50/85/120 >>> 30/65/100/135
(1) Mystic Shot AD ratio :: 1.1 >>> 1.2

-----

⬇️ MASTER YI
Yi has truly mastered the power of Wuju and is an unstoppable tank-melting, split-pushing terror, so we’re taking a chunk out of his attack damage per level, as well as the damage gained via (3) Wuju Style.

AD per level :: 4.55 >>> 3.6
(3) Wuju Style active AD ratio :: 0.35 >>> 0.25

-----

⬇️ VAYNE
Vayne’s mobility and kiting, as well as her late-game damage, is making her scarier than intended. We still think Vayne’s identity as a late-game carry is important to her playstyle, but she should probably have to work harder to get there.

(2) Silver Bolts active Attack Speed :: 45/60/76/90% >>> 40/45/50/55%
(Ult) Final Hour cooldown :: 80/70/60s >>> 100/80/60s

-----

⬇️ JINX
Jinx was getting a little TOO excited, so we’re scaling back her attack speed per level.

Attack Speed per level :: 0.022 >>> 0.007

-----

⬆️ TOWERS
We’ve seen your feedback around towers feeling weak, so we’re increasing tower stats when they’re backdoored, or taken in quick succession. So far, we’re pretty happy with Wild Rift’s average game length (around 17 mins); we’ll be watching these changes closely.

Backdoor Bonus Tower Damage :: 10% >>> 20%
Backdoor Bonus Tower Damage Reduction :: 66% >>> 75%
Domino Bonus (temporary damage reduction after previous tower destroyed) :: 35% >>> 50%

---

Finally, here are a few things we’re currently looking at for future changes (but no promises!):

👀 SMITE
We’re seeing junglers level up very quickly, and we’re keeping an eye on their ability to outscale laners.

👀 BLITZCRANK
Feedback from Blitz players (and opponents) suggests his (1) Rocket Fist is a little too reliable in lane.

👀 NAMI
Nami’s crowd control seems strong - we’re watching her ability to lock down key targets with relative ease.

👀 MARKSMEN
Marksmen are feeling incredibly powerful as players get used to dual-stick controls, basic attacks, kiting etc. For the same reason, we’re seeing Jhin UNDERperform due to his reload downtime.

👀 JAX
Jax is running away with many games by splitpushing to victory, forcing teams to send multiple members to stop him. We’re hoping the tower changes address his dominance, but we’re keeping an eye on him for future changes.

Hey everyone! Here’s an update on alpha eligibility: in the coming hours, we’ll be disabling all accounts that didn’t gain access directly through a Google Play Store invite. Read more:

--

One of our goals for the Wild Rift Regional Android Alpha is to gather data and feedback from a small group of players in a couple of regions before entering larger rounds of testing across the world. We think it’s critical to take in early feedback from players to make Wild Rift the best possible game it can be at launch, and beyond.

Last weekend, we saw that many players found a way into the alpha without a direct invite, by installing a version of Wild Rift onto their phones through third party sites.

To be blunt: our servers and processes aren’t quite ready to handle this many of you just yet, and we can’t host a whole lot of new players at the cost of stability. Because of this, in the coming hours, we’ll be disabling all accounts that didn’t gain access directly through a Google Play Store invite. This shouldn’t affect any eligibility for future test waves.

The good news is that getting our testing back on track means we’ll soon be able to roll out larger waves of invites to eligible players in Brazil and the Philippines, and we promise to keep you updated when future tests are available in more regions.

Thanks for your patience and your feedback so far, we truly appreciate your time and energy, and we hope to see you on the Rift soon!

Day 2 of the Wild Rift regional alpha begins now! Once again, we're only open for a few hours while we test the stability of our features. Queues will be open from 18:00 to 22:00 PHT.

A few updates:

- We're seeing reports of invites going to spam or promotions folders. Make sure to check all the nooks and crannies of your inbox!

- Reminder: we're only inviting a very small number of players to the alpha. Right now the population is made up of random pre-registered players (around 90%), and some content creators and streamers too. We'll continue to send invites throughout the alpha, which will be live until June 27!

- Don't download anything fishy claiming to be legit. The only way you can get access is through the Google Play Store. There are no key giveaways, secret access codes, or shady dealings that will increase your chances. Be safe out there!

- We are still listening to all your feedback even if you don't get in this time around, so keep it coming, and stay tuned to the official Wild Rift page for more updates.

- Finally, we thought you might want a closer look at some of Wild Rift's splashes for Angler Jax, Dreadknight Garen, and Mafia Graves.

Hey everyone, Wild Rift team here. We hope everyone is staying safe and well.

A few quick updates on our Google Play Store page. We’re seeing reports of a few confusing experiences which we’re hoping we can clear up. Here goes:

GOOGLE PLAY STORE: Many of you found a “testing” link that was briefly available on the Play Store. Opting into this test likely put your account in a weird state with an “Install” button that errored out. This one was our bad; we had accidentally toggled a setting that allowed you to “opt-in” to a non-existent Early Access test. If you’re affected by this, you might have to pre-register again, but everything else should be back to normal. Sorry about that!

We’ve also seen reports that push notifications have been sent out to some players saying the game is available. We’re still tracking down the source of where this is happening, but to be clear: the game is not available yet, so please don’t download anything fishy! Thanks to everyone that helped us troubleshoot so far.

MINSPEC: In order for us to build a League experience that feels great to play, we’re still working on what our minimum device specs will be when we launch. We’re aiming to make the game available to as many devices as we can while not compromising on Wild Rift’s core gameplay.

At launch, we hope to support devices with these specs and above: 1.5GB RAM, Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, and Adreno 306 GPU. And yes, at launch, we’re working to support 32-bit Android processors.

For iOS players, we’re aiming to have Wild Rift run on iPhone 6 and above, which we know is a little higher than what we previously announced. We’ll provide more info on this as we continue developing the game, but please know we are committed to finding ways to optimize the game for as many devices as we can.

OH, ONE MORE THING: We’re temporarily raising the required device specs to support a very limited alpha test next month in Brazil and the Philippines. More info on that, and a bunch more, at the end of May.

Hopefully this helps—thanks for sticking with us! See you in a couple of weeks.
