Mbah meets Tinubu, says Enugu open for business
Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, on Tuesday, said his state is conducive to investing and therefore, open for business.
This was as he said the financial reforms implemented by the Tinubu administration resulting in the easy flow of capital in and out of the country were rubbing off on the state.
Mbah revealed that his state is pushing for the construction of the cargo terminal and completion of the international wing of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, with help from the Federal Government.
The governor stated these when he briefed State House correspondents after closed-door talks with President Tinubu at the A*o Rock Villa, Abuja, Tuesday night.

Military bombs Cotonou boats stealing crude in Rivers
The Nigerian Air Force says it has destroyed five Cotonou boats caught siphoning crude oil at Cawthorne Channel and Alakri in Rivers State.
The Director of Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, who disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, said six active illegal refining sites in Rivers State were also bombed by the air component of Operation Delta Safe.
According to him, the operations were conducted between November 12 and 13, following an intelligence report.
Gabkwet said, “In an effort to combat oil theft and checkmate the activities of economic saboteurs in the Niger Delta region, the air component of Operation Delta Safe has, in the last three days, intensified its air operations, destroying six illegal refining sites and five Cotonou boats in Rivers State.
On 12 November 2023, intelligence received revealed the sighting of three active illegal refining sites and two Cotonou boats siphoning crude oil from pipelines at Cawthorne Channel and Alakri in Rivers State. The IRS and boats were subsequently engaged and destroyed. Similar strikes were also carried out at Krakama in Rivers State, on the same day, on three Cotonou boats sighted conveying suspected illegal refined products.
“On 13 November 2023, NAF aircraft also struck some sites at Dariama village in Rivers State following an intelligence report of illegal refining activities near the location.
“On arrival, three IRS with tanks, pipes, and pumping machines as well as Cotonou boats loaded with suspected illegally refined products were sighted, engaged, and subsequently destroyed.”

BREAKING: Old naira notes remain legal tender indefinitely – CBN
The Central Bank of Nigeria has extended the validity of the old N200, N500 and N1,000 notes indefinitely .
The apex bank’s Director, Corporate Communications, Isa AbdulMumin in a statement titled, “CBN To Allow Old Design Naira Banknotes As Legal Tender, Ad Infinitum” on Tuesday, said the decision is line with international best practices and to forestall a repeat of earlier experiences implementing the policy.
Eastern Bight Independence earlier reports that the CBN introduced the redesigned N200, N500 and N1.000 denominations in October 2022 and certain deadlines were set for the old design of these denominations to cease as legal tenders.
The statement read, “Without prejudice, the Central Bank of Nigeria wishes to inform the general public of its desire to extend the legal tender status deadline of the old design of N200, N500 and N1,000 denominations; ad infinitum.

I completely agree that every state has some good bread options. However, after trying bread from various places, I have found that the top three breads for me are from Onitsha. Although I have also tried Orlu bread, which is known for producing the best bread in Imo state. As someone who resides in Aba, I am familiar with the quality of bread that Aba has to offer. Additionally, I have tasted exceptional bread in Enugu and Ebonyi state. Among all the breads I have tried, I must say that Iruka remains my number one choice.
Interestingly, in response to my previous post about Iruka, I noticed many people mentioning lovebite bread. Now, let's compare the quality of bread between lovebite and Iruka to determine which one is truly the best.
Yes, this is essentially a form of free advertisement for both lovebite and Iruka bread.

Daniel Bwala, the spokesperson for the Atiku Abubakar Presidential Campaign Council, said that President Bola Tinubu might face more significant challenges in managing Peter Obi's supporters, known as the "Obidients," who back the Labour Party's (LP) candidate.
He believes this could be a bigger concern for Tinubu than handling the nation's economy. Bwala made this statement in response to comments made by Datti Baba-Ahmed, Obi's running mate, regarding the Supreme Court's verdict confirming Tinubu's presidency.
According to Datti, the apex court upheld the legality of the lower courts but did not affirm President Tinubu's victory.
He added that he would never be shaken by a man who forged his certificate and forfeited drug money.
But, in a statement on his X handle on Tuesday, Bwala said that Tinubu will face more problems in managing the LP and its supporters.
He stated, “Listening to Datti Baba-Ahmed this evening, I believe the man has not shifted a bit from his earlier position, although he now accepts the fact that Tinubu is the President by the court.
“But Peter Obi and Datti’s position today convinced me that Tinubu has more problems to manage with the Labour Party and Obidients than the entire economy and insecurity in Nigeria.
“How he will navigate this is a course to be taught at OAU, ABU, and Nsukka universities,” he added.

Kano Hisbah sacks, declares officer wanted over ‘unholy acts’
The Kano State Hisbah Board has dismissed one of its commandants for compromising and sabotaging the fight against immorality and social vices.
The commandant general of Hisbah, Aminu Daurawa, told journalists on Tuesday in Kano that five other officers were also under investigation.
He explained that the dismissed personnel usually connived with “bad elements to perpetrate unholy acts in the state”.
Mr Daurawa said upon assumption of office, he hit the ground running by sanitising the board of bad eggs as the board is no longer the same as it used to be.
“We have dismissed a Deputy Superintendent of Hisbah (DSH) and declared him wanted. Wherever he is found he should be arrested and prosecuted,” said the commandant- general.
He said the DSH usually connived with the hotel operators so that Hisbah would not raid their hotels during its operations.

Nollywood actor, Kelechi Udegbe, has survived a car crash, which left his vehicle in tatters.
The actor shared videos and photos of the crash on his Instagram page on Sunday.
Also sharing a video of him at the hospital, he wrote, "With immense gratitude to God almighty, I write these words with a heart full of mixed emotions.
"Just a few hours before the commencement of acting in the lead role in the ongoing film project of the illustrious and incomparable filmmaker, Kunle Afolayan, fate dealt an unexpected hand.
"I was involved in a ghastly accident that almost altered the course of my destiny in almost the blink of an eye, but God, the MASTER PERFORMER performed an unbelievable miracle and gave me a second chance at life.
"I made it out of the accident alive but suffered minor injuries.
I'm in good shape and will be back to doing what I enjoy doing best on your screen in a couple of days."

On the fourth day of November last year, I was returning from a funeral at my hometown and had plans of attending a traditional marriage in Ikot Ekpene.
The plans were aborted when I ran into a bloody accident scene at anwa udo Akai junction. It was a horrible sight, two victims were already dead, two were badly injured and one was in the gutter, lying on the thin line between life and death.
The people at the scene were making videos, shouting Jesus and crying. When I asked about the one in the gutter, someone responded "Oh, since you are good, why not bring out that and bury her?"
That statement alone fueled the humanity in me. I swung into action, jumped into the gutter and brought out a very heavy, blood soaked lady. At this point I didn't even mind what I was wearing.
We got to the first hospital and the Nurses, without running any examination, declared her dead!
I smiled with tears in my ears, declaring life to her. I used my usual slogan "Nothing dies in my hands!"
We got to the second hospital and the doctor told me he can only accept her on one condition, I have to sign "life or death, 50/50"
I didn't know her from anywhere, and it was risky.
What do you think I did?
I signed anyways.
She was admitted and I had to stay in the hospital with her. On Saturday, the next day, I found a piece of paper, a hospital card where does her check up, I went there to make enquiries and I got no useful information.
I had to wait for her to gain a little consciousness so she could give me a little information about herself, and that happened on Sunday. She was only able to give me her sister's contact after two days.
Well...
She survived, and you know the first food she requested for in her Subconscious state?

Governor hope Uzodimma Lights Up Owerri to orlu Road
The lighting project which is done in good faith to prevent road crashes, armed robberies and other criminal activities especially at nights along the road, have been applauded by residents and will be completed in the coming weeks.
Recall that a week ago, His Exellency, Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodimma announced that President Muhammadu Buhari had granted his request to commission the Owerri-Orlu and Owerri-Okigwe roads in May, 2022 while expressing optimism that the federal government would be moved to compensate the Imo government for embarking on the projects.
