Oh no, I am going to shock you for a good cause because tonight on "The Block Party", it is CRAZY HALLOWEEN, PART 2. Tonight you will hear many of your rock and roll Halloween favorites, but true to "Block Party" form, I am throwing in some unique songs that I bet you didn't know about. We call them "Naked Radio Favorites" because we love to expose you to great songs.

You will hear from Alice Cooper, CCR (not "Bad Moon Rising"), The Shadows of Knight, the Four Tops, Steppenwolf, the Allman Brothers and more. Our Mystery Band was in pieces of five, but their founder kept them alive in name. Given it's Halloween, he was a fine chap to do that.

Hour Two - Award winning creative director and designer, Ernie Cefalu shares how Pacific Eye and Ear used the skills, talent and ideas that they displayed in album cover designs to influence the corporate world. Ernie shares how a one time member of Iron Butterfly and the band, Captain Beyond became a major catalyst in Pacific Eye and Ear's history.

It's shocking, its' rocking and YOU are a major part of "The Block Party". Thanks for your kind support.

We have an exciting night on "The Block Party" and YOU are invited. I am starting "Crazy Halloween" early and of course, you get to hear that laugh.

Hour One - One of our most requested vocal groups on "The Block Party" are The Crests. What a diverse group of singers that included Patricia Van Dross (Luther's sister) along with J.T. Carter, Talmadge Gough, Harold Torres and they added a guy who in my eyes could sing the phone book and make it sound fantastic - his name - Johnny Mastrangelo - whom we came to know as Johnny Maestro. Patricia would eventually leave to finish her education but you will hear her sing harmony in the early days of the group as I feature the "B" side of their first single on the "Joyce" label. P.S. I was not the founder, but sure loved their sound.

Hour Two - Award winning creative director and designer, Ernie Cefalu and I welcome our guest Derrik Watts to "Ernie's Corner" and "The Block Party". Derrik is the creator and founder of "Brandedstein". Don't worry because Derrik and Ernie are not going to release the Halloween monster, but they will be sharing all about an innovative platform that brings art to the world of the wearable (and drinkable) and Derrik will also share about Pacific Eye and Ear's special place in this one of a kind domain.

Hour Three - We begin "Crazy Halloween" with songs from Pat Travers, Tommy James, "Smith", Dion, Janis Joplin, and "Joyce's Vinyl Pick of the Week is "Redbone's " "Message from a Drum". Our Mystery Band involves a group that was known for their loud power in the early days and I will be featuring a song from their second LP.

So pull out your Halloween costume early or just sit a spell with your pumpkin spice and join us for "The Block Party".

Hour One - On our "Vocal Group" Salute, it's the Orlons who were another fab vocal group out of Philly who graced the Cameo Parkway label. Rosetta, Marlena and Shirley gave us some fine harmony and they added a talented guy who had a unique "Frog" voice that made their sound even more special.

Remembering John Lennon on his 84th spiritual birthday and John had a connection to Rosetta Hightower of the Orlons. You will hear one of John's early influences and how he translated that raw, raucous sound into Beatles' history.

Hour Two - Speaking of history, award winning creative director and designer, Ernie Cefalu shares on "Ernie's Corner" how time, dedication, and vision add value to a collection. Ernie's echoes Neil Young's statement that rock and roll will never die and Pacific Eye and Ear lived that journey through the creation of art and never being satisfied to just remain a part of history, but to keep on making it.

Hour Three - it's a moving tribute to singer, songwriter, soldier, Rhodes Scholar, actor and pioneer of "Outlaw Country", Kris Kristofferson who never gave up his dream of pursuing his love for music and he risked and confronted rejection by his family, but in the end, he made it happen with some of the most enduring songs that many artists including himself have recorded and they continue to touch the fabric of our lives.

Dear friends, come join me tonight on "The Block Party". I am blessed to have been given an outlet 22 years ago to host "The Block Party" on community radio 91.1 FM (WHFC) which is licensed to Harford Communtiy College in Bel Air, Maryland. WHFC is conducting their Fall Fundraiser and this evening I am broadcasting on both Live 365 and later on WHFC. I promise to get to our personal shoutouts next week, but felt it important to concentrate on our Fall Fundraiser which is so important to keeping great radio on the air. (Retro County is my personal gift to you)

Tonight I will be featuring some historic commercials and music that involve The Zombies, Creedence Clearwater Revival (back in the days when they were known as "The Golliwogs") and on Hour Three, I will be remembering the great legacy of J.D. Souther.

Hour Two - On "Ernie's Corner", award winning creative director and designer, Ernie Cefalu brings out the electric scizzors to share about a beautiful design for the late Janis Joplin that would have been her final LP. Ernie also shares how poet Michael McClure was part of his journey.

Also, I have a new "Rockabilly Haven" for October that airs from 7-8 p.m. right before "The Block Party". It's a rock and roll gathering of friends and you are invited.

Dear friends, as you may know, I took a not so graceful tumble this past week (hey, I have to feature "Rollin and Tumblin" on a future show) and then Hurricane Helene had us hiding for a while in the basement so I decided to feature an ENCORE PRESENTATION of my tribute to producer, Jerry Fuller, Duke Fakir who was the last surviving member of "The Four Tops" and the Godfather of the British Blues, John Mayall.

Next week, award winning creative director and designer, Ernie Cefalu has a story to tell about "The Cutting Room Floor" and it involves the great Janis Joplin. Tonight, Ernie shares about a project and game that he designed for Cheech and Chong that would have rivaled Monopoly and BINGO and it would have been FAR OUT.

I will be back next week with our Fall Fundraiser Show for WHFC that will air here on Retro County - Live 365 and it includes lots of fun listening surprises.
