Though intended for the abandoned Motion Picture Funnies Weekly, comic legend Bill Everett’s Sun-Mariner was picked up by Martin Goodman for the flagship issue of his new publishing house. This is Namor’s first appearance, confounding two salvage divers near Antarctica.

Once again, from Marvel Comics #1, the first appearance of the Angel (aka Thomas Halloway).

The Angel was a private detective in the 1940s, similar to the Shadow. He was the first of the street level mystery men to appear in Marvel lore.

Super exciting announcement time! This Wednesday, Sept. 30, will be the series premiere of a new talk show called "Daventry Studios' Creative Corner" ("Creative Corner" for short) and we'll be interviewing some fantastic artists and letting them showcase their talents.

The purpose of the show is to bring art to the world that is truly beautiful and points us towards deeper truths about our lives, relationships, and destinies.

The show will be available to watch on the Daventry Studios YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5T7qHwcNe3PK20XYESfEVg), and the current plan is for it to air bi-weekly. Our first guest is singer/songwriter Eric Cyr, and the show will be available for viewing at 7pm CST.
