The intensity of the conflict in the occupied territories has increased. The Russian Army is launching attacks in many parts of Ukraine. The Russian Army cannot get what it wants in these attacks. The Ukrainian Army is successfully defending these attacks. The Ukrainian Army is targeting ammunition depots and command centers of the Russian Army. Every day, the Ukrainian army is inflicting great losses on the Russian army in terms of ammunition. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shared a report on the Ukrainian Army's attacks today. Ukrainian Rocket Forces and Artillery units hit a command center, 11 manpower clusters, a fuel storage point and an ammunition storage point of the Russian invaders. No personnel casualties of the Russian Army were reported.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy offers his heartfelt sympathies to the families and friends of all those who perished as a consequence of the helicopter crash in Brovary, Kyiv area, transporting the leadership of Ukraine's Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to estimates, 16 people died in the accident. The actual number of those killed in the disaster is not yet known.
Among the dead are Interior Minister Denys Monastyrskyi, his first deputy Yevhen Yenin, MIA State Secretary Yuri Lubkovych, his subordinates and the helicopter crew.
Thirty people were injured in the helicopter crash.
The Head of State directed the Ukrainian Security Service, in collaboration with the National Police and other authorized agencies, to investigate all aspects of the disaster. All necessary services are on the site of the tragedy.
“Denys, Yevhen, Yuri, the team of the Ministry of Internal Affairs... true patriots of Ukraine. May they rest in peace. May all those whose lives were taken this black morning rest in peace,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

Nataliia Humeniuk, Head of the Joint Press Centre for Operational Command Pivden (South), on the national joint 24-hour broadcast;
"A submarine visited the base during the day, and this may very well indicate a redeployment. This means that today we estimate the total volley of all six missile carriers, which are currently on combat duty, at up to 44 missiles.
The threat of missile strikes remains relevant."
According to Humeniuk, the highest number of missiles reported in the Black Sea during the full-scale battle was 48.
On Monday, January 16, 17 Russian vessels, including six Kalibr cruise missile carriers, were on combat duty in the Black Sea.

As the tension in the Ukraine-Russia War increased, the good news expected from the Ukrainian side came. Germany announced the Arms Support package. According to the government's statement, it shared the list of weapons to be sent and planned to be sent to Ukraine.

In Ukraine, a helicopter crashed in Brovary near Kiev. It was announced that Ukrainian Interior Minister Denis Monastirskiy lost his life in the accident.

General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, information as of 06:00 on 18 January 2023;
"Over the course of the past 24 hours, enemy forces carried out 14 airstrikes and 6 missile strikes, including 3 on civilian infrastructure in the cities of Kupiansk and Kramatorsk. They deployed multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS) to conduct 95 attacks.
Over the course of the past 24 hours, enemy forces continued to deploy mortars and artillery to fire along the entire line of contact.
Units of the Defence Forces repelled the occupiers’ attacks in the areas of the settlements of Bilohorivka (Luhansk Oblast) and Sil, Krasna Hora, Bakhmut, Klishchiivka, Vodyane, Nevelske, Marinka and Pobieda (Donetsk Oblast).
The General Staff also reported that Russia has been forced to bring in Russian officials in order to assume administrative responsibilities in the occupation government on the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine due to the lack of Ukrainian officials willing to collaborate with the occupation regime. There is also a shortage of workers in a range of industries as local residents refuse to work for the occupiers. Russians are trying to bring workers in from Russia and temporarily occupied Crimea.

Ukraine's Defense Forces withstood Russian attacks near 16 communities and struck 15 clusters of Russian military troops, as well as positions of their air defense systems and an electronic warfare system.
Report from the General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces, as of 06:00 on January 16th.
"The enemy is undertaking offensive operations on the Bakhmut and Avdiivka fronts while suffering substantial manpower losses."
Over the previous 24 hours, Russian forces launched two missile strikes and used multiple-launch rocket systems [MLRS] to launch over 55 attacks on civilian facilities in the oblasts of Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kherson.
Over the past day, units of Ukraine's Defence Forces repelled Russian attacks near the settlements of Bilohorivka in Luhansk Oblast and Verkhniokamianske, Krasnopolivka, Spirne, Sil, Bakhmut, Klishchiivka, Novobakhmutivka, Velyka Novosilka, Prechystivka, Krasnohorivka, Pobieda, Novomykhailivka, Vodiane, Maiorsk and Marinka in Donetsk Oblast.
Over the last day, Ukrainian aircraft carried out nine strikes on Russian military manpower clusters and two strikes on the positions of their air defense systems.

Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu made an important statement about the number of soldiers in the army.
Russian Minister Shoigu was in a meeting with Ministry officials. At the meeting, it was stated that large-scale changes will be made in the army's staff from 2023 to 2026.
Shoygu said that a good plan should be made to expand the staff of the Russian Army and the time of delivery of weapons from the defense industry should be matched, and that Russian President Putin has decided to increase the number of soldiers to 1.5 million.
"Ensuring the military security of the state and protecting new territories and critical facilities of the Russian Federation is possible only by strengthening the basic structural components of the army," Shoigu said.

As the Ukraine-Russia war continues, a helicopter crash occurred on Ukrainian territory today. In the city of Brovary near the capital Kiev, a helicopter crashed near a maintenance house and an apartment building. During a covert meeting during his visit to Ukraine before to Russia's invasion, William Burns, Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), informed President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of an assassination threat.
This information is described in Chris Whipple's book The Fight of His Life: Inside Joe Biden's White House, which is about the administrations of many US presidents.

According to Chris Whipple, Biden directed the CIA director, a former US Ambassador to Russia, to provide Zelenskyy with "detailed information of the Russian plots": "This quickly attracted Zelenskyy's attention; he was taken aback, sobered by this news".
According to 'Ukrainian authorities,' Zelenskyy has escaped more than 12 distinct assassination attempts by Russian soldiers since the full-scale conflict began in February 2022.

"The intelligence was sufficiently thorough that it would enable Zelenskyy's security personnel defeat two different Russian attempts on his life," Whipple said of the success tales.
